Here you go Carnage. I guess this is my God of War reboot. :P There were some rumors that Uncharted 4 and a new God of War title were shown in concept form behind closed doors at E3. It looks like they are going to be sending Kratos to Norse Mythology or something.

I think it will be a sequel not a reboot or a prequel. Time will tell.

Oh I meant to say it's a sequel but set in an entirely new mythology. Reboot was poor wording on my part.

Uncharted 2 had far superior gunplay. It's the best cover based third person shooter out there.

S0lidSnake

I haven't played Uncharted 1 or 2 yet, but as far as I've seen, the Gears Of War franchise has been pretty consistent with having an excellent cover system. I'm not sure if you have even played any of the Gears games, but if you have, can you compare the two in terms of its cover system? I'm really curious to hear your thoughts! :)

I have played all three Gears games (I choose to believe that Judgement does not exist). Characters in Gears move like a tank. I am sure its by design, but it makes close quarters combat a pain in the ass. The cover system is nearly identical, but Drakes agility makes moving in and out of cover and traversing the enviornment a lot more smoother/quicker. The weapons in Uncharted all have their uses while Gears is basically a Lancer game in SP and Shotgun fest in MP. In uncharted, headshots are always a one hit kill. Not so much in Gears unless you are using a Sniper Rifle. I do like that the guns in Gears pack a punch. It feels like you are using a death machine.

Can you even shoot in Gears without pressing L1? Its absolutely essential in Uncharted with enemies working together to flank you. (In U3 they became suicidal and just bum rushed you which is why the combat in that game sucks).

Actually, you'd be surprised with the controls and how it is a little easier in Judgment. And yeah, the close quarters combat can be a pain in the ass, specifically when you are trying to mow down enemies with your chainsaw and then trying to out-distance yourself from the opposition by swinging the camera angle and moving at the same time. I already know that Uncharted 1-3 are a few games I'll be getting with my Playstation 3 soon, so I'll be able to finally find out why exactly these games are considered the shit, basically.

As for Uncharted, if it continues fine but if ND wants to move on that's fine too so long as they continue to make quality games.

Shame-usBlackley

With Uncharted, I noticed more of their shortcomings than I did with The Last of Us.

I would be fine if they moved on from Uncharted, honestly. I think they'd be stifling themselves creatively if they don't. At the same time, I hope there are no sequels to The Last of Us, either. The one experience was great enough that repeated trips back could dillute it. As it stands now, we've got this perfect little slice of time in that world. I hope they leave it that way.

I wholey agree because I found the Uncharted formula to be particular strong in The Last of Us. Outside of the frequent shooting and puzzle solving in Uncharted series the Last of Us followed the rest of the forumula. If they are to continue the game as a series I anticipate that it these similarities and shortcomings would become even more obvious.

The thing is, I'm not really convinced about the PS4 going with BC through the cloud-gaming idea they have for it (Gaikai). And even if they did, not every game would be made available for that service, would it? It would be more along the lines of what Nintendo is doing with their Virtual Store service - only make select games available and not every game in their library, no matter the system. So that makes me worried...and on top of that, there are games that I have to play right now on the PS3, like Tales Of Xillia and Tales Of Graces F...I doubt those games would be made available right away on PS4.

Makes sense that is what that hidden scene in Ascension seemed to be setting up. I hope its not just a shift to a different pantheon but Kratos taking on mythological figures from all over the world (Jaffe's original vision for the finale of GoW IIRC).

Since when has the launch price determined the console winner? Xbox 360 had a one-year lead and a $200 cheaper price, yet the PS3 is currently matching it in sales. Consoles constantly get price drops, so the launch price only matters during the first year.

And the GameCube was only $200 when it launched, and we all saw how poorly it sold compare to the PS2.

It doesn't. But it does give a significant head-start. It's partially why the 360 took the lead from the PS3 for its first few years. Sony could ride the launch momentum through to the end if they play their cards right.

It's a real shame that Sony doesn't have Kevin Butler around these days.

Could you imagine what he would have done during the Xbox One fiasco.dvader654

That would have been great. Whatever happened to him, anyway?

He played a Wii in a Bridgestone Tires ad, which violated a non-compete clause so he and Sony are done (Sony sued the actor and Bridgestone but settled with them both). Shame.

They also made an article about why the XBox One will crush the competition as well.

Metamania

5 Reasons the Xbox One will dominate

#2 Kinect

#4 Smartglass

#5 TV

Well, so much for the credibility of that article. :|

Also that huge Vikings tie in was probably a hint. :P

Sounds like we are wrong about it being Sony Santa Monica's project. Insomniac's James Stevenson is dropping hints in the Neogaf thread that its a Ratchet game. It also sounds like it will be part of the future trilogy and might feature Ratchet and Clank running into characters from other universes (Jak and Daxter?). Can't get excited about this given Insomniac's recent track record though if the gameplay footage is good...
