I like Green Day. I think they deserve their own Rock Band. Legendary in your eyes doesn't translate to legendary in everyone's eyes. For instance, i don't like the Beatles at all, i think their music is awful. Oh no, watch out, everyone: i have an opinion. Also, look at Green Day sales worldwide - you said it yourself, they're popular. Why NOT make a game for them?
I don't think it's a question of what band deserves their own game, it's more of a matter of which band games will make money and which bands are allowing games to be made. It's also a harrowing process, from what the Green Day bassist said in his interview - a lot of their earlier songs are on analog devices, so converting them to digital was no easy task. And a lot of bands that you'd LIKE to see have games probably have little time to dedicate to it. I'd like a Muse game, too, but my god, they seem to tour a LOT.
