Well yeah, it definetly looks bad by today's standards. I didn't mean to insinuate otherwise on that point. My point is that it was undoubtedly impressive when it came out.

In my opinion:

FF7, all of the Crash Bandicoots, Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, and Chrono Trigger

They all still amaze me of how great games they are.

^ some random 2 cents to the above discussion.

Final Fantasy 7 imo looks pretty bad, but at the time it still looked pretty good...it should make sense. Even though it can be hard sometimes today to look at its still a fun game to playthrough, but compare screenshots of 7 to 9 and you see big differences.

All ps1 Final Fantasies are fun...but yes I do agree that FF7 looks pretty ugly today even compared with its sibling FF ps1 games.

Last-Resort

I'm speaking from when it first came out. I'm not looking back on it from today, it was terrible when it came out in everyway, and the only argument you could make for it was CGI which was poor quality.

Do you know what year PS1 came out in? Because it seems to me you're looking back on it from today. It was amazing game then, and most say it still holds up today. And to Last-Resort, PS1 games looked better as it's lifetime progressed because developers got to know the system, so of course FF7 would look ugly compared to like FF9

I like how people love spinning on this website, I clealry said I am speaking for when it came out, it was not impressive (the CG) at all in anyway, and the GAME did NOT LOOK good when it came out. If you say the GAME ITSELF looked good at the time then you have several issues to work out with your eyes. As for the CGI, it was bad compared to FMV and CG used in other media at the time. It wasn't even impressive for consoles (excluding the PC), Many other FMVs were better. Period. But hey, whatever, I don;t know how you guys grew up on video games, most likely the more restricted way, so of course it would have been amazing to you guys.

Silent Hill has held up pretty well. Apart from that; Resident Evil 1 & 2 (though really a 2d game with small amounts of 3d) Tekken 3 (has held up very well)
