so ive used the same ps2 and same third party component cables on two sets of TVs, i once had a dell LCD television, and it worked fine, jaggy but thats to be expected, progressive scan was good, and even 480i through component looked great for all the games that dont support progressive(still baffled by why they didnt implement 480p into all late PS2 games, FF12 was a pretty big offender in that category IMO) but that TV busted, and now i have a samsung 19'' LCD TV, heres the thing...480p looks fine except there seems to be these faint diaganol bars that u can see infinitely passing from the left of the screen to the right on certain colors, but thats not too bad, whats bad is games in 480i...its as if the image was a piece of paper that was folded 16 times and opened up again, why is this happening? wii through components doesnt do this, nor does the 360 through components, so why is it that my ps2 is doing this, have the cables gone bad?

Do you see more of one color than you do the other 2 ? ( red, green, blue )

Does this problem occur during a scene that heavily uses any of those 3 colors?

Video is comprised of red, green and blue which it uses in different amounts to create all of the other colors you see. If there is a short or a fault somewhere on any of those colors the reproduction can be off.

ah nope, all of them are hooked up, the colors are fine, and i just tested the same system with the same cables on my living room 32 inch set, everything is as should be, its just my TV in here, the samsung ln-t1953H, the colors are perfectly fine, it just seems as though the image has faint vertical lines throughout the picture that give the illusion that the image is displayed in many strips, theres no gaps between the strips though, honestly ive never seen anything like this and its pretty difficult to describe.

its a framerate thing... the tv has a framerate limit, usually on a tube tv about 32 (just a little higher than a tv show framereat which is usually 24-30) your game ir running a few frames faster or on a different sized pic
