Ps2 online without network adapter

I would like to now if theres any way to play ps2 games online without the network adapter, like connecting the ps2 to a computer by a usb cable?

no u cant just use a usb cable. the usb on the ps2 (phat) is for storing photos from granturismo4 and hooking up a mouse/keyboard. but you MUST buy the additional network adapter to connect an older ps2 to the internet.
