I have played this game for 5 hours total....... I love it. It could be one of the best RPG/Shooters out there, I really dont see why people hate it so much. the shooting is good, the racing is a blast, I admit, the save system is sh!t, and i love Mutant Bash...... the town setup is cool, the ruined city is cool to look at, and the sounds is great..... what is everyones problem with this game???
I thought it looked great but for me it got repetitive very quickly. It's a decent shooter don't get me wrong, but I didn't see anything special in it.
It's not underrated. It was hyped to no end before release and what they delivered was a stereotypical apocalypse game that was mediocre and repetitive. Fantastic AI and good gunplay but poor missions and the visuals are very inconsistent. From a distance things look great and get in close and you have some fugly textures that look like they belong on PS2, even the PC version with an updated texture patch

I like Rage, it definitely has replay value for me. I was initially expecting it to be more like its Id predecessors, but found it to be a satisfying open world RPG/shooter nonetheless.

Thats was Assassins Creed: Revelations problem...... It was over-hyped before its release as being something "New" but all we got was the same experience as the last 2 games......
And, another contributing factor to me loving the game is that I never got into all the hype before its release, i payed practically no attention to Rage before its release, I heard the name several times, but never got interested. But, I just was really dying for an experience i knew nothing about, so 3 days ago, i borrowed Rage from a friend, and i went in with no expectations for it, because i knew nothing about it, so i really could not be disappointed.
I really enjoyed it as well. It looked and played great, driving around and racing were quite fun as well. The ending was terrible though and the last battle was lame.
I traded it in when I was about three-quarters of the way through. An extremely basic and linear shooter that consisted of a bunch of item-collecting sidequests and no main quest. And some dune buggy racing that gold old fast.
Target has this for $20 right now, but I decided to go with Mass Effect 3 (PC) for $40 at Bestbuy today. Apparently, whenever Steam has their "Summer Sale," it'll be pretty cheap.

I liked rage because it delivered an interesting campaign unlike fallout 3 and borderlands and arguably better combat, it had fewer and more varied enviroments. At the same time though it was very short and lacking content for the time it took to make and pretty forgetable after you finish it. The pc version and the graphics were a pile of crap though.
Great game, I'm not the biggest FPS fan, in fact I didn't even get on with FallOut 3, but I really enjoyed Rage. So much so, that I went back & did a nightmare run which makes it even better. ////
It was fun, but pretty generic and uninspired overall. I was also pretty disappointed when I got the super ultimate badass weapon, and then I only got to use it for one ****ing level before the game was over.
Yeah, I wouldn't say it's underrated. It was an id game, so expectations were pretty high to begin with, but then it was hugely hyped prior to release. Sadly, it failed to deliver. It's not an awful game, by any means, but for all its potential - and id's reputation - I think it was a massive disappointment to a lot of people. I bought it from Amazon for $10. As such, I can safely say I got my money's worth from the game. But playing it after Fallout 3 and Borderlands, the game felt extremely generic, even low budget. And it's little things that kept it from being really special. Like the simple lack of a day/night cycle; the game would've been so much creepier and unsettling if I was getting jumped by mutants during the dark of night. The RPG elements were so minimal as to seem really half-assed and totally pointless. The weapons didn't feel especially powerful, like they had any sort of 'oomph' to them, and combat wasn't all that satisfying. The ATV/buggy driving was a lot of fun, but the landscape wasn't open enough to really cut loose with it in the Mad Max way I was hoping for. Actually, the environments felt rather restrictive in all respects. The world didn't feel all that open. And you couldn't really jump to get around and explore, or as a shortcut for jumping over railings to get back down to street level. It felt like the character had weak little midget legs or something. In a lot of ways, it felt like a very 'last gen' game. Very outdated in its mechanics. Again, it wasn't an awful game, but it was awfully mediocre. I found Fallout 3 and Borderlands to be vastly more enjoyable, and offering way more replay value.

well, the game is easy as hell, the problem is that enemies take to many bullets, so in the last difficulity you take few bullets and the enemies take much more. But it kinda balances itself out and the enemies take less bullets too. In simplier terms, you take alot of bullets do die in easy but so do the enemies, in harder difficulities both you and the enemies take less hits, you if you kill enemies quickly without getting hit, its basicly easy to play in the hardeest difficulity as long as you have bazzilions of banadges to patch things up.
Don't know if it's true or not, but I hear that going through the hardest difficulty in Rage isn't really that hard at all. True or false?

I'm not a hard core FPS player, & I completed it on my second p/t with little problem. But saying that, because I enjoyed the game, I took my time. I made sure my equipment was fun, but also efficient. It made it a better experience. So the only thing I didn't like about it was the last level, is that it felt rushed........but they have part two planned, so that might be a small explanation,
