RDR- Sour grapes or plain brilliant?

What's your opinion?

(If you didn't know what sour grapes is, it's a reference to a myth, it means that it's basically bad because you can't have it or something)

I just wanted to know because now that I know I will be getting it, I wanted to see if there is really that many people who hate RDR.

Meh, it's alright. The only really good part about the game is the shooting.

The ending is the best part of the story! The rest was just dumb.

the game was way to slow and easy for me, also man the cover system was useless like did anyone use it.

Absolutely fantastic game, probably my favourite from last year.

It was an excellent game. Good gameplay, and a great story. Jon is one of the coolest game heroes ever.

At first I thought I wouldn't like it, but when I got around to playing it, it blew me away on how good the western genre really can be outside of movies.

Red Dead Redemption deserves every bit of respect and praise it gets.

I think it is a FANTASTIC game! :D one of my favourite games of last year. Great story, awesome gameplay, AMAZING world and feeling :).

A very good idea, great effort, but heavily flawed execution. The story was a mess, the missions were pretty lame, the pacing was horrible and the characters other than Marston and the woman were entirely uninteresting. Honestly, when I got to Mexico (it was my favourite part of the game) the tutorials with the old guy made me feel as if the game was originally supposed to start there, but in order to pad it out, they added the almost entirely forgettable ranching portion of the game.foxhound_fox

Very well made, but the actual game play, the difficulty structure in particular, makes the game feel like it isn't going anywhere. It's like playing one REEEAAALLLLY long first level.

Great game, but things get a little lost in the second half, story fades, characters fade and the missions get a tiny bit lazy.

Still excellent version of GTA with horses.

I thought it was a good game, but that's about the highest compliment I'd give it. If you can get it at a good price now, I'm sure you'll be a lot more satisfied with it than I was when I spent $60 on it.

Possibly one of the worst games I've ever played.

I would've like it a lot more if it wasn't for those godawful ranching missions.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I'm not sure if I'd call it brilliant. I can't see myself playing through it again.

My fav game this gen, and in my top 10 best games list.

Multiplayer is brilliant with friends, but the singleplayer is very boring since I've done mostly everything and have no real incentive to play it again

It is a great game, though the trailers make it out to be much better than it actually is. Because of that, I was really hyped for it and got it on its release date. I don't regret it, but it was a bit disappointing. To me, the game is not fun, but more of an experience. The world is really detailed, and just riding your horse around, encountering random events, and doing small things like hunting is fun for me. But the basic gameplay like shooting felt bland to me. Because of the era that the game is set in, all the weapons feel the same, as they're all single shot weapons. The fact that the controls are a bit clunky doesn't help. And some people told me that the shooting is more fun if I turn off the auto-aim, so I did that, but then it became impossible to shoot while riding on horseback. Because of all this, the online isn't that great either, but I still recommend getting it for the single player. If Rockstar can just improve the combat mechanics in their games, they would be really awesome - I found the same issues with shooting in GTA4.

Possibly one of the worst games I've ever played.

I just started playing this game. My opinions so far.

Hard to play due to tiny font for SD TV's (I still use one)

Buggy as hell game. I've probably played 4 hours and encountered no less than 5 game locking bugs. The game is seriously up there with Bloodlines in terms of bugginess. Which is pretty bad since bloodlines atleast had the excuse of being rushed and unfinished.

Gameplay is quite fun though the cattle roping and such missions are as boring as I'd of expected. I actually have far more fun hunting and doing side quests.

I'll keep on playing. The game is rather fun but frustrating.

I'm just hoping for a PC port. I really, really want to play it; it looks fun. :)

BORING is my vote.

Absolutely loved it. One of the best games in a really long time. The ending was perfect and then the TRUE ending perfectly closed the game

I've about given up on this buggy glitch ridden mess. In a 2 hour gaming session I'm liable to come across atleast 4 game breaking bugs that require restarts.

Theres bugs and then theres damn near unplaable. Mabe I was just unlucky but I can't even play this anymore. It's only hope to me is if it's ported to PC so the community can make a path to fix the damn game.
