Resident Evil 5 Trailer to premiere tonight on GT TV!

"If you're looking for a reason to continue your existence until at least late Friday night, be aware that the new trailer for Resident Evil 5—rumored to feature Chris Redfield's sidekick—will be debuting on GameTrailers TV this weekend. In addition to that, we'll also get a peek at EA's Facebreaker and an updated look at LucasArt's Fracture, which seems to have received one more facelift. The GT TV promo teases it all."

Spike TV IIRC. I don't know what time it comes on though. Hell, I wasn't even aware of the show's existence until the Kotaku article went up a couple days ago.

edit: alright, looking at tvguide.com it seems that the show comes on at 1:00 AM EST which would actually make it Saturday, not Friday. It probably comes on earlier normally but this week it seems that Spike has flooded its programming with UFC.

Excited but at the same time kind of bummed out that we will have more threads about racism if this trailer shows more action.

interesting trailer. they are most definitely infected and not all black so the whole mowing down black people theory is shot. still looks too action oriented for my taste, but im sure ill still play this one.

I thought the new Golden Axe game looked quite cool same with Facebreaker which also looked like it would be pretty fun to play.

EA looks to coming with some pretty good original stuff instead of using licensed stuff all the time.

Speaking of which, I'm really glad to see old bag head back. The whole trailer seemed rather promising, though I don't know if I'm quite as excited for it as I had been for RE4. I expected Chris to have a partner from Africa (a la Luis in RE4), but I didn't expect it to be a woman. She also looks a lot less useless than Ashley was which is a huge plus.

yeah somehow I had seen that interview before, but I did not remember the talk about multiple endings and decision making. It seems that most developers are starting to implement this into their games as it is what is hot but for this game I think it really makes a lot of sense. I am happy, did you seew what he did to that walker, :o

Whoa!! That RE5 trailer was awesome!

The gameplay looks more intense than RE4.....a lot of enemies and very little space.

It seems that the Las Plagas is back, and creepier than before......apparently it also turns a few into chainsaw wielding baddies that for some reason they have to put sacks over their heads. Nice to see they're back :D

The weird thing about setting RE in Africa is that there are some parts of Africa that are equally as horrifying as the state of area depicted in the game. I think a more realistic game set in Uguanda or Darfur could actually be even more epic, if done in a Tears of Sun sort of way it could provide a huge emotional impact. Maybe its just me, but I would love to take out the slaughtering militias of those two countries. The shock and horror of depiciting real life situations in Africa would be more unsettling than the e las plagas of RE5.

Damnit, mind-controlling parasitic worms confirmed. And here the devs were saying it would be a virus. Well...maybe they'll be plagas infected with the G-virus or something. But this trailer pissed me off more than it got me excited simply because its looking more and more like the new producer really is too scared to introduce any novel ideas into the game as far as setup and plot goes. We've got co-op but that's about all that's new. I mean, this game is really just RE4 in Africa:

- Both games have a native character who will help the protaganist along (Luis vs. Unnamed black woman)
- Both games have mind controlling parasites infecting everyone in a rural village
- Both games have a leader who has introduced the parasite
- Both games have a helpless girl who must be escorted (Ashley vs. Sherry)
- Both games have a bag headed chainsaw wielding psycho
- Both games have an enormous bladed tentacle that begins attacking you if you behead an enemy

I can understand keeping a working formula but for the love of god don't make a carbon copy of the previous game. I mean, what's next: Are we going to have Jill or Claire assuming the role that Ada played in RE4 (sans the triple agent part)? Maybe have a few giant not-zombies the likes of El Gigante? A lake boss perhaps? And let me guess: there will be five acts, one of which will take place during the day with the other four taking place during the night (thus fulfilling the dev's claims that there will be both day and night scenes) though the final act will end with dawn as you fight the boss.

Yeeup...I'll still probably end up buying the game but I get the feeling that I'm going to be having a lot of deja vu.
