Absolute excellent video but as always with Richard Garriott :)

He is really such a awesome guy and i was lucky enough to meet him a few times, once when he had a tour of his house in the ultima online days, and Origin had a party for its volunteer staff :) and then this year at Syndcon.

Back when the word "Origin" didn't conjure up horrible thoughts of EA nastiness

hehe true :)

No plot, trial & error and infinite grinding and farming? Doesn't sound like Garriott.

Nah, he's going for the old school PC RPG gamer.

Thats uncharted Territory. Is that like Baldurs Gate and Planescape type of audience ?

I only started looking into that recently......

Baldur's Gate and Planescape are fairly mainstream. I think he's gunning for an even more old school kind of gamer. The kind of people who used to play text adventures back in the mid-80s.

From what i can tell he is going for the old rpg style combined with ultima online.

Shroud seems pretty decent so far but is of course lacking a bit under the small budget there is to make it.

It's still in pre-pre-alpha and they are building most of the engine from scratch, everything we've seen so far is little more than a placeholder.
