Since both of these games are coming out pretty soon. I wanted to know your opinion on which might do better and why? and Which one are you most looking forward too.

For me, I firsted was going for RB 2 after playing RB 1. Then the setlist for GHWT just blew me away, and that song creator looks like alot of fun. I will be buying both games, but I'm looking forward to GHWT more, because of the setlist and song creator

I'll be staying away from Guitar Hero until I know the final song list and whether the achievements are stupid again (seriously, GH3's achievements are easily some of the worst to date -- just AWFUL).

Still, I think Guitar Hero's a more recognizable brand, and the uninformed actually think Rock Band ripped off Guitar Hero, not the other way around. I think World Tour will outsell Rock Band 2. Also, I hope Harmonix has gotten their act together with the reliability of their instruments -- the Rock Band instruments were pretty awful.

Why must we pit the two against each other? every one wins with two great band games. unless you get rock revolution then you lose.

I played World Tour at PAX and didn't like what I saw. The art direction is taking a "Tony Hawk with guitars" kind of direction.

My vote goes to Rock Band 2.

Guitar Hero World Tour. I heard RB2 will have the Song Creator. That's complete BS right there! What copying!!

Guitar Hero IV has a pretty good setlist, a rockstar creator, a song creator, DLC, song creating you can turn into DLC, and... cheaper stuff. It's STUPID how much the full Rock Band 2 bundle is. 300 dollars for drum set? Seriously, you could buy a real drum set for a bit more than that.

Rock Band 2 is going down. Neversoft will pummel Harmonix.

I'm voting rock band 2, first off rock bands set list is awesome in my opinion. Guitar hero's DLC sucked really bad in 3 and rock band had tons more and they were really diverse and from awesome bands, metallica, the who, black sabbath, chili peppers, system. i dont really care about song creator i would rather pick up my actual guitar for that. Please, know your facts before you post, the $300 drum set is made by another company and the bass pedal is made out of solid metal so it doesnt break with heavy usage. Either way i dont really care, i wont be buying guitar hero though.

You would seriously consider not buying the game because of the achievements? Wouldn't the differences in gameplay between these two contenders be way more important?

Wait, did you say Rock Band copied Guitar Hero?

You are aware that Harmonix wrote Guitar Hero, right? And then came up with the drum kit and microphone additions?

Anyway, Rock Band 2 already shipped from Amazon... I should have it by Monday. I might pick up Guitar Hero 4, but probably not, one band-simulating rhythm game is enough, really, especially with all the extra content RB2 has.

Yeah what he said Rock Band 2 by far, because its made by the original creators who continue to push the envelope, and because the tracklist is just looking so superb and diverse.

Well considering how Guitar Hero WT's ONE DL full album (Metallica) clocks in at 1.3 gigs, and most Rock Band albums are beneath 500 megs....

I think I'm going to stick with Rock Band as my music platform.
