Rockstar has earned my utmost respect with the Zombie DLC

I've always pondered how great it would be to battle zombies in the wild west using the same engine that Red Dead Redemption had. RDR had good combat, immersive atmosphere, pretty graphics, and decent story telling. This DLC is almost a dream come true for me - they went the extra mile with it. What do you think about it?

They already are man.

I don't mind having zombies in a game as long as it makes sense. This Red Dead Redemption DLC, although I have never played it, seems to be bending the fiction within the game world a little too much. Having played Red Dead Redemption, I figured Rockstar set out to achieve a believable story with dark and gritty characters and themes, however, this DLC seems to discredit most of that. I'm sure the DLC is really great and is probably a lot of fun too, but I don't turn to a game like Red Dead Redemption to kill zombies.

While my respect for Rockstar hasn't really changed much by this DLC, I still think it was a silly and immature move.

Zombies seem like they are appearing in every game now adays.

I agree, I saw Yakuza is doing a zombie thing now... it looks horrible.

I think it is cool in some games and I would have loved to see a free roam zombie game but in a city like Grand Theft Autos style.

But it is getting a tad ridiculous, especially since some games just suck.

Still, I think it is cool for Red Dead Redemption. But what is next, robots taking over mankind. I wouldn't doubt it.

But that's what is nuts man- an apocalypse filled with zombies seems standard and overplayed as opposed to the western setting, which barely shows up in games. At this point, I wouldn't be half-surprised if the next content pack has ninjas or robots or something else dumb.

I don't really care if I'm in the minority or the majority. Context is important to me. Zombie games are zombie games. But when you start seeing zombies where it doesn't make any sense just because it's trendy, then it becomes stupid.

By the way, did you just imply that there are oh-so-many wild west games whereas the world is craving for an oh-so-rare zombie survival game?

I think Rockstar do the best DLC.

I'm with the ones saying "this DLC is stupid".

It's optional mind, it's not done any damage to my game and it only grants Rockstar more money, and hey if it's more money to a decent games developer I don't mind that at all. Nothing bitter about it, but I won't be getting it because it's stupid.
