Any romantic scene or theme is more than welcome in my book. It would also be really nice if more games incorporated some passionate kissing and clothes being taken off, followed by some hot steamy sex. :DBladesOfAthena

Lmao.

Ehh, if it's written well, go for it. Most of he "romance" in games are either stupid or cheesy as twistys (Are they?).

If I'm playing a huge badass, I don't want him falling in love with this chick because he saw her beautiful eyes in slow motion during a well placed sunset. I want him to kick some ass!

Also, lol at Mass Effect when I saw that romance scene(s). So, so cheesy. Yet funny.

pff...Mass Effect romance was pitiful, you had some girl called Ashley who was begging it through the entire game then se randomly chucks herself at you and there is a seen with your character in bed with her...thats around about a 3/10 on the romance metre and a 9/10 on the random lust metre.

As for the guy whatever the heck his name is, I have to say what a pitiful ******* he was seriously whenever I got the choice I would send him off to the grim reaper and end his miserable existence...I still haven't seen the love scene with him in and frankly don't care to, but I will ask one question was he on top or bottom? I'm guessing bottom.

Middle. I should know.

Bow chika bow bow.

The Mass Effect scene was really weird because you could choose what you'd want to say. One day, I would basicaly tell her to gtfo my ship because she wasn't as l33t as me, then the next day I'd tell her how her family was going and she'd be head over heels for me. Twas lols.

I don't support it unless it has something to do with the story.

If it's not in a Final Fantasy game then it's a no go.

I like Romance in video games, as long as the story is well told.:)

I like romance in games, especially if the story and development of the plot really makes me care about my love interest.

********* Kotor and fable 1 spoilers *********

Kotor was one of that games, where i LOVE to turn on my friends and join Bastilla in the dark side. It's so satisfying :p

In Mass Effect it was ok, though really brief. There should be more room for the relationship to develop.

And how could i forget about the love in fable 1. I really liked being married to lady grey, and she always saying to me: "No. I'm too important to follow you." And how the chief of the garrison was astonished with me for taming that cold and murderous wife of mine. :p

Anything that adds to the story is fine by me. Romance seems to be what most games left out in the story.

Naaa.. I can't do it.

I can see the marketing behind this idea, but I've actually had real romance in my life. To have it on a video game (after having lived it already), seems kind of foolish to me, and sort of cheap in comparison.

Besides, the romantic storyline wouldn't do much for me when I just want to play a game.

My favorite right now is the ambiguous relationship between Gordon Freeman and Alyx.

Good IF done right. Sometimes it's overcooked and overdone. Japanese RPGs and anime/manga makes a living with melodrama!

Meh... I have a relationship also, but that doesn't diminuish the fun of playing relationships.

When it is predicable and shallow it's kind of corny, but when well done, i tend to care about my character's love interest.

It gives another dimension to the game.

One game that fleshed this superbly is the Silent Hill 2.

So true... It's like animated soap operas :p

Capcom is terrible at it, but resident evil has some good couples. Jill cand chris, leon and claire. Billy and Rebecca. And capcom just doesn't do it right. They put leon and ada together which is the dumbest thing because she tries to kill him on a regular basis. Leon and claire all the way. Also, I heard indigo prophecy and the upcoming game, heavy rain have potential

So im kinda curious, what is your opinion about having romance in video games espsicially RPG games?

Personally i think Romance adds a good taste in a video game and makes it more intersting and more addictive, thats just my opinion lol and im relly hoping that Final Fantasy versus XIII will have more romance into it .

Now its your turn, what is your opinion??

finalstar2007

By romance you mean like the ones in God of War right?

I thought that Prince of Persia, the new one, had a very good love story. I mean, that whole game was almost a love story, I still really like it though.

I say, it adds a little more humanity to the story to the game. So sure, give the game some romance.

If done right, it's ok to have it in.

If done wrong, they better take it out.

An example of done right romance in games is Shadow Hearts (first two games. Must play both game to appreciate it)

An example of done wrong romance in games is Star Wars Force Unleashed.

It's fine when it's done properly. It only detrcts from the game when it's not.
