Why is there 2 endings? I saw both of them and it doesnt make any sense to me.

One has Julius telling you that you are now 2nd in command and the other has some politician that i never saw in any cutscenes of the game thanking you for winning him the election (Hughes) and then the ship blows up??

Maybe i am confused because i saw the game walkthrough on you tube but can someone plz tell me wat happened?? Were you betrayed? Who is the politician? And how it ties in to Saints Row 2.

Question.

Have you even played Saints Row 2? If you haven't, why are you asking when the answers to your question can be found there? ;)

I can back this up. That is the official canon ending. Why it happened and all that happened...well, you gotta play the game.

If I remember correctly:
In the first game a cop went undercover and worked in your gang (he was called Troy, I think), he basically manipulated the gang into taking out all the other rival gangs which in turn aided the politician (Hughes) in his rise to power over Stillwater. When all the gangs were eliminated, Troy arrested Julius (which, FYI, was the leader of the Third Street Saints in SR1). He then convinced Julius to ask both Dex and the Protagonist to "lay their flags down". Believing that the Protagonist has gotten power-hungry, Julius decides its best to kill him off instead of asking him nicely, which lead to him destroying that yacht the Protagonist was on with explosives. Shortly thereafter, Dex decided to leave the gang and work for Ultor.
Thats more or less a quick summary of what I can remember from the first game, check out the Saints Row wiki for any other info if you still have questions.

After you complete Saints Row 2, there is a secret mission. It will explain everything Google it up.

Julius betrays you because you were gaining way too much power. You being with a powerful politician on a boat was the perfect oppurtunity to eliminate powerful foes.
