Condemned is very good. Both scary and a great & overall unique experience. But I think you must go for the Project Zero (Fatal Frame) series...It sometimes scares the "beep" out of me.Fioth
Condemned is scary i won't even play that game at night anymore but another one would be eternal darkness that one just mess with your head.
Try Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earthn on PC. It is set in the world of H.P. Lovecraft and has a great story.
Play at night with the lights off, some good headphones on and prepare to be scared.
Also try Pathologic. It also has an interesting story and a few decent freak out moments.
Stalker shadow of chernobyl hands down. Played with the mod that makes the nights realistically dark. Kind of like doom with the flashlight.
They have these invisible mutant things which move fast as hell and have like a tentacle octopus face they attack you with.
Plus the game isnt scripted so you never know when your going to run into stuff.
I was wandering around one time when i came across like a couple of dead stalkers lying around, which was weird because i hadnt been through this part of the map, then i noticed one of the bodies like flailing around in mid air. I thought the game was glitching until I saw the outline of a mutant look up, and then drop the body it was feeding on to come straight at me. Dam that was scary. I unloaded like the entire clip hitting nothing because i was shooting so frantically.
There was this game where you are like a japanese chick who goes around a house taking pictures of ghosts. Thats kind of scary if your scared of ghosts.
Originally it was Resident Evil for the Playstation but I was 5 at the time and I ran off when I saw the first zombie cutscene. I played Resident Evil 2 and fell insanely in love with Resident Evil as a whole, even going back to the original and beating it.
Now? Silent Hill.
