He's dreaming if he thinks he's getting $25k for all of that. Awesome collection, but come on.

This same person has had this listing up for quite some time. He got like 200 offers the last time he posted it and took none of them.

I'm not sure I could justify spending 25k on that, even if I had the extra income.

It's not worth the price, even for a collector. You can just see the filth. As Jiggly said, putting the games on a dirty rug? That right there tells me the games are worth under $10 a piece.

it's definitely not expensive to get the whole collection like that.

the guy who sells these collected them all to preserve it forever, I think he dumped all the roms and cover art and manual art of all games. that's why he bought all of them, now he's selling all of it because he wants to do the same with psx next I believe. this guy is not really doing it for the money

Looks to me like the guy's just looking for a fast way to make $25k. Why would you go to the trouble of gaining such a collection only to sell it on once it's complete?

I doubt for the condition the collection is even worth half what he's asking.

Then again, not all rich people made their money by being clever, so he might get lucky.

Thats an estimated $34 a game. For a complete collection I think it might be worth it. Although I think it might be on the high side just a little.

While this is kinda neat. The U.S.A/NSTC complete collection of Super Nintendo. He would be better off just selling the best games of SNES. How many of the 721 of so of the North American Super NES are actually great games. 250? out of 721. Then like other console SNES had its share of bad games. So they would be not worth anything even if with box, manuel, inserts etc.

With the bad economy and America going over the fiscal cliff. Leading to another resession or even another depression. $25,000 will be very hard for this seller to get.

Still it is kinda of neat. Good luck to the seller.

Impressive but not worth that kind of money. He admits that lots of manuals are lost and some of the games are in fair condition. Let's be honest, anyone who wanted to play any of these games could do so easily via emulators and real collectors want the best condition possible on what they buy. Not to mention that out of 700+ games in the collection, around 10% are worth playing nowadays, the rest being generic/licensed crap sidescrollers as it was usual in the 16-bit era. (for f*** sake, the collection includes Shaq-Fu!) If anyone wants to buy this, probably will do so to split up and sell individually. As it stands maybe he should expect an offer between $3000 to $4500, which is what the collection may be really be worth. Expecting to gain 25K out of that is wishful thinking.

what many people here forget is that the collection is pretty much complete. so the games will cost a lot more than having to find each one seperately. which costs a ton of time, and time is a lot of money

Exactly. You don't find complete collections that often. Every game complete. MY head hurts just thinking about getting every game. But every game COMPLETE? Madness.

yes that is right , you certainly have to calculate the hard workthroughout the years and the time it took to find all thoses games

some of them are pretty rare and hard to find

if only I could find earthbound at a low price ...

You could probably build this collection yourself in less than a year for less than half of what he is asking.

He's the ZSNES coder guy, right? Probably having a financial issue and figured he'd bait gullible buyers with the price tag. Or maybe, given all the offers he's rejected until now, he wants 25k for something specific to invest in. Or maybe he calculated all the cost that was attached to his individual purchases and wants to break even. Good luck with that.

I still have my SNES game carts. About 18-20 games total. I thought of keeping them for nostalgia's sake but with each passing year I feel like I'd be better off selling them with the console (which still works). Been stuffed in the closet for over a decade.

which would costs hundreds of hours, which is probably around 15.000 dollars, depending on how much money you make in an hour. and even then I doubt it

That's pretty good, but 25,000? It shouldn't even be going for 10,000 IMO. Jeez, I think I'd feel kinda burnt buying over 700 games in one go, it would probably eliminate the satisfaction of snagging some good classics...since you're just getting it all in bulk. But that's just how I feel (and you'd have to be rich to afford that anyway, no way saving will cut it :P)

Problem is that only about 20%(guestimating) is worth $34 or higher. Most of the collection is of less value. I'd even go as far as saying that 25-30 percent of the collection you could easily snag for $5 or less.

It's a great collection, and having a fair amount of it complete is sweet...but 25K? That's being optimistic. Even half that price is pushing it.

There were TONS of terrible terrible games for the SNES. A solid 1/4 of the entire collection could be had for about $1 per cart if buying in bulk.

no you couldn't. maybe about 5-10% can be acquired for 5$ with manual and box, but even the worst games go for a lot more complete.

I have about 200 SNES titles complete in box. Of those I'd say 140-160 of them are less sought after/very common/crap titles. All of them I did in fact get for $5 or less(bought in bulk, most times).

So yes...you can.

While I'm sure there are individual games in the collection that cost more than that average of $34 each, the vast majority are not rare and will cost much less. Sure, you have to put some man hours to try to find every game and you might not be succesful, but I think the majority of people would be willing to put in some hours if it could save them $10k or so in building their collection.

I envy whoever bought the lot.
