Interested in selling my unwanted games to Amazon (particularly Borderlands) , rather than going to Gamestop this time around, or compare the funds at the very least, just to weigh my options.

I've heard selling through Amazon is more profitable, but considering my future purchases of Modern Warfare 2 and possibly Dragon Age: Origins, Gamestop's store credit maybe the better choice for my situation considering the 10% Edge Card bonus plus the 25% credit bonus if trading in for credit solely on Modern Warfare 2.

So to which company should I sell my game(s) to? Thank you in advance. :)

Instead of asking us, you should do a bit of research. Look up copies of the game on Amazon (and other websites), to see how much they generally sell for, and compare it to the credit you'd net via gamestop.

I did look up the prices on Amazon, however how much I would receive from Gamestop I haven't. They're closed. I was looking for previous sellers and their satisfaction level with selling through Amazon opposed to Gamestop, vice versa. Thanks though. Ebay, eh? Just seems like it's a more complex process and varies on the demand of the game. I would have to supply S&H as well as the box correct? Which isn't too big of a deal, but still a hassle nonetheless.

unless stated otherwise, usually the buyer pays for shipping. But you need to make an ebay account before you can buy/sell on there, and i'm pretty sure that requires a paypal account, or banking account. Also, you may have issues selling at first, because you won't have any star ratings, being new to the website

I do have an ebay account as well as a paypal account, because I've purchased but never sold through eBay. Ohh, the star ratings could be a setback. The buyer pays for the shipping... so I would just purchase the box and send it to the mailing address?

pretty much yeah. And you don't really have to purchase the box either. I used to sell stuff on ebay years ago, and when i did, there were free boxes you could get from the post office that were flat rate boxes... I don't know if that's still the case, but you can check it out. Also, you have the option of checking the dumpsters from department stores for boxes they've tossed out back after unloading the trucks. Used to do that kinda thing a lot.

Alright, well sounds good. I'm going to check out the eBay market for the games I'm selling, to see if it would be more profitable. Thanks, Greyfeld. Cheers mate. :)

I was scared away after signing up for Ebay selling account when they said monthly deductions, but only if it sells. Still, the monthly fees were too frightening so I stuck with Amazon. Here's the best example I can give you - if you sell a game for 40$, Amazon gives you money for shipping (3.99$), but deduct the costs through their various fees and whatnot. So, what ends up happening 90% of the time is you have to pay for shipping (2-3$ in US) and the total you'll receive in the end can be simply deducted by subtracting 3-4$ (usually +/- 2 after fees) you paid to ship it. What that means - you sell the game for 40$ and after shipping costs, you're final profit is about 34-36$. I'm pretty sure GS only gives 25% or less for trade in credit and with 10% edge card, you'd hypothetically be looking at 14$ towards your next purchase of a 40$ game before taxes. If they give you 10-15% trade in credit, your looking at 6-10$ towards your next purchase. Good luck!
