similar games to Condemned?

Hi, i am a games student and am doing research for a game we are desiging. I was wondering if anybody knows of any similar games to Condemned?

I'm quite interested in it's melee system, i like the idea of being able to use weapons from ur environment, such as a lead pipe, locker door, etc.. but i was wondering if there was any games that use a similar system but has slightly more gore, kinda like Dead's rising but less humorous. Basically in our game we want the character to be able to use weapons in his surroundings, which would be a science lab so he would use a scalpel, syringes, bone saws, stuff like that to stab and cut up the enemies. Are there any games out there like that??

Penumbra and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic are the only things that come to mind. However, each game leas to the far extremes of melee combat. Penumbra has minimal use of weapons and forces you to rely on the environment to defeat enemies. Dark Messiah has a well polished melee system but its heavy on swords and magic.

Crowbars, plastic bags, glass shards, hammers, circular saws, you name it.
