Hello guys, I wanted to know something. I've recently finished dragon age: origin. Dragon age inquisition intrigued me so I wanted to play the other games before, but I've heard so many bad thing about dragon age 2, should I play it or skip right to dragon age: inquisition. I heard the choices you've made in origin and 2 have a impact in inquisition, are they major or small? Should I skip 2 or not!?

I never had the chance to play the first dragon age. I got Dragon Age: Origins...and never could get into it. I barely played it.

I am enjoying inquisition though...it just seems to be a better all around game. I went with the stock/pre-determined world that is present in the game.

If you are worried about the choices...go do the Dragon Age Keep thing, and import the choices you want that way. I never played the game, but I did do a lot of back ground story reading, so that I understand the premise of inquisition. That being said...Dragon Age Keep made little sense to me, so I skipped it.

I can understand you worrying about the choices aspect...in Mass Effect I really appreciated the import from previous games, so I imagine it is the same here.

I had no investment in the previous story, so I was fine to play it as is....but it is up to you. If you want to predetermine it, play dragon age 2, or do the dragon age keep and link it to your game.

The main character from DA2 plays a role in inquisition but there is a method that you can use to edit the game back story a bit.

I say skip Inquisition. It is not good. The story is so-so. The combat is not that good and the level system is one of the worse out there.

I've played halfway through 2 and it's not bad but I recommend that you skip it. Btw I don't think its possible to import save file from da2 to dai. You have to use dragon age keep to get your choices to go over to inquisition. You can search it up. It lets you make all the decisions in dao and da2 and carry it over to dai.

DA Inquisition is a must play trust me.

Dragon Age 2 is not a bad game at all, it was just disappointing considering it was a sequel to Origins. They're all worth playing, and Dragon Age 2 can be found for very cheap nowadays.

I did not enjoy inquisition. I did not have fun with the game play and I hate the leveling system it uses.

I would definitely play it. Some of the Inqusition story references back to DA2. Some of the stuff that is talked about in Inquisition will be lost on you if you don't play DA2, but I guess you could always check out the wiki.

DA2 by itself is a pretty solid game, with better combat than DA:O if you ask me. The main things people complained about DA2 were the fact that it used some of the same set pieces over and over (So did Mass Effect, but no one complains about that). That and they expected it to be a DA Origins 2, but it wasn't. It was a completely different game, with a completely different story.

The choices you make in DA and DA2 do matter. It allows you to meet characters you already interacted with, and the world is set depending upon your choices. Sadly you just can't import your saves into the game. You have to use the Dragon Age Keep website to do that. The nice thing about using the Keep site is that it does allow you to change decisions you may have messed up on.

Dragon Age 2 is the only game in the series with a story that strays away from the "you are the chosen one to destroy the great evil that plagues the land" schlock, so play it.

I'd say play it. I found the game to be quite good. The only complaint I had with it was the repetitious art assests and dungeon design. Plus you'll understand Inquisition much better.

DA2 is a lot different from origins as you've obviously already gathered. It's in no way an improvement over the original but not a bad game in its own right. I have to admit that I liked the more personal storyline focus of DA2.
