Hopefully this puts a crack in the armor of internet anonymity being this great way of treating people like crap with no consequences that so many snot nosed brats and immature adults take advantage of, and at least some online games become just a bit more civil.

I agree with you on that. A very large portion of the online gaming community consists of immature, spoiled brats playing games that they're too young for. (Such as Call of Duty or Halo.) They ONLY play to win so they can improve their stats and position on the leaderboard. That's all they care about, they let the victory and, as you said, "armor of internet anonymity" go to their heads. They feel like they can brag all they want and how ever they want because they feel like there will be no consequences since the people they're playing against online don't actually know them in real life.
If you beat them, they start complaining and accuse you of hacking or aimboting. There have been countless times when I've been accused of using an aimbot when the truth is, I'm the last person you'd expect to use an aimbot.
These immature kids ruin it for the rest of us who play for fun and I wish they would realize that being an a-hole online won't get you anywhere, it can only cause trouble just like in that story.
That being said, it's even worse that that grown man assaulted that kid. He let the insults get to him. Being a grown man, he should've known better. I'm only 19 and all the smack talk little kids give me online doesn't phase me at all. It's sad to see a grown man care that much about an online game. But maybe this story will serve as a message to other kids and convince not to be jerks to everyone they beat online.
