I'm thinking Half life 3. It's been years since Ep2, and with Portal 2 in development, it may be another one. Releasing an episode-long game, knowing that a full game needs to follow (and hopefully soon) seems dumb. Besides, you already have a "trilogy" (which is what every film/videogame maker always want, and Ep2's ending is more ten suitable to conclude that trilogy...

Any thoughts?

When those first videos hit the net ala HL2, then I'll get excited. For now I'm okay without HL3 or Ep3 for that matter.

It's hard to predict exactly what Valve will decide to do because they've given us no information on how far along Episode 3 is/was. After all the time it's taken, it would be surprising to me if they do come out with an Episode 3. I think it's likely that they'll just jump straight to HL3 now.

And I'm the opposite of the above poster - for me the next HL game can't be released soon enough!

Who knows whats going on over there at Valve...but at this point i would be content with anything half life. I want whatever would come sooner, but in reality i think they'll just go straight to Half Life 3

I don't really care whether they decide to do a new episode or a full new game but I want one or the other ASAP. I am tired of them focusing their resources on the Left 4 Dead series which I don't even like that much.

I was thinking Portal 2 would be episode 3, but the info that came out about that seems to show otherwise. Valve is nuts, but they know I'll buy whatever they put out.

Doesn't matter what they call it but with the wait I'd hope it would be the length of a standalone game.

I'm starting to believe Half Life Episode 3 is turning into another Duke Nukem Forever

At least with Duke Nukem Forever we could say that the delays were caused by the constant switching of game engines, what excuse does Valve have besides poor zombie games.

Why aren't they making it?? Its a proven franchise and a highly anticipated game. Make the game, We will give you our money... it's a win win.

I know. The game would sell very well with such a big built in fan base. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when Valve talks about why they aren't doing a new Half-Life game, it just boggles my mind.

No more episodes. Lets get a full blown new Half Life game. I would love to even see a remake of the original with all the expansions included.

I am not big on remakes. Let the past be in the past and move forward with the series I say.
