Well, I just got a 360 and, using the hard drive, I can get some original Xbox games. I'm going to get Jet Set Radio Future and Fable, I don't know about LAN play though...

It was more of an online console but there are some good one player games. Ninja Gaiden, Halo1/2, Forza, PGR 2, cant think of many. I mainly played it online with Counter-Strike Battlefield 2 and Halo 2 and Forza. Live has been cancelled now though.

I guess I would consider those type of games.

Well if that's the case than you should look into getting every Splinter Cell title on the box.

I love the original Xbox. It received a lot of flak from skeptics who did not want to support more of Microsoft's products, but it really is a solid machine. Hardware-wise, it blows the PS2 out of the water, and is very reliable in the sense that it very rarely overheats or breaks down like the 360. Anyway, enough about that, here are some of my favorite Xbox exclusives (excluding the obvious Halo 1 and Halo 2):

Breakdown (immersive and unique, a precursor to Mirror's Edge)

Brute Force

Chronicles of Riddick (at one time, one of the best games available on the original Xbox)

Crimson Skies

Dead or Alive: Ultimate

Deathrow (one of my favorite games that no one seemed to play -- friggin brutal)

Fable

Forza Motorsport

Jade Empire

Jet Set Radio Future

Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders

Knights of the Old Republic (also on PC)

MechAssault (awesome game that launched with Xbox Live)

Ninja Gaiden Black

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee; Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (both coming to PC when Steam releases the "Oddbox" soon)

Otogi 1, Otogi 2

Panzer Dragoon Orta

Project Gotham Racing

Phantom Dust

Unreal Championship 1; Unreal Championship 2 (not Unreal Tournament, but still awesome and even better in some respects)

I know that's a lot, but that pretty much covers everything. Oh, and RalliSport Challenge 1 and 2 are also great racers. The lineup is a testament to the diversity of the original Xbox catalogue, which was commonly regarded as only having shooters and racers.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is quite simply one of the best games I have ever played, so be sure to get it if you can. Conker: Live & Reloaded also is a good exclusive that I enjoyed a lot.

it's already been said but i want to stress that you MUST get

The Warriors (its on ps2, but the xbox1 version does NOT work on the xbox360 fyi)

MechAssault 1 and/or 2

Ninja Gaiden Black (or just regular Ninja Gaiden)

Forza1 (it works on the 360, but still a great exclusive, so much better than Gran turismo)

Halo 1 (it works on the 360, and you can get it digitally, but on the original xbox is the best way to go)

Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT (2 great games that came with the console when i bought it, i think its 1 disc, or maybe 2 discs in one case)

and be sure to check xbox.com for the compatible list if you have a 360 and want to see what games are on the list and are not. the BC list seems to be final, so if it's not on there, it probably never will.

edit:

oh yeah, Crimson Skies is also a must have if you like Dogfighting type games. It's not quite realistic, but pretty fun still. I recal it had xboxlive and split screen modes (but original xboxlive is dead in case you didnt know)

I would suggest being interested in the multiplatform games. In most cases, the XBox version is the best version on multiplatforms. Usually the best in graphics and sound ,and you don't have to waste a memory card to save a game or settings, so save to your heart's desire. As for exclusives, XBox had some of the best adult-oriented exclusives of any of the last-gen systems. Some of my favorites: -Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge - A great mix of old-time adventure story and an airplane shooter that is very stylized and even throws in a sprinkle or RPG elements via an upgrade system for your planes. -Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes - Basically Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance III. Doesn't follow the same story, but it plays very similar, it's set in the same universe, and uses D&D rules. One of the best hack-n-slash RPGs. -Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition - IMO, THE reason to own an XBox. This game is the most amazing RPG ever created up until that time. There are so many ways to go with your character, so many quests, guilds, missions, items, dungeons, and everything for an RPG fanatic to spends dozens upon dozens of hours on. And you want The Game of the Year Edition which has all the expansions not available on the original version. -Halo: Combat Evolved - Of course the mutliplayer is awesome, which either you already know or you just aren't a Halo fan. But the single-player is often overlooked and is incredible. It has amazing graphics and levels, and an awesome sci-fi storyline. -Halo 2 - The same reasons Halo: Combat Evolved is good but more of it, better graphics, and better soundtrack. -Jade Empire - A very unique RPG set in feudal japan. It centers on martial arts and Eastern legends rather than the normal magic, armor, warrior, mage RPGs of the west. It also has an emphasis on your character either being bad or good based on choices throughout the game. -MechAssault - Not a very in-depth game. But it is a very fun "blow-up everything" type game that has great physics. -Panzer Dragoon: Orta - Another Sega classic that never made it to the Dreamcast, unfortunately. But thankfully for fans of Sega and the Panzer Dragoon series, this was an exclusive on the Xbox. A very unique flying shooter. -Shenmue II - For Sega fans that don't play imports, this is your best bet to getting the continuation of the epic story of Shenmue from the original game that was released on Sega Dreamcast.

Don't tell anybody, but I kinda liked Pariah and I think you would too.

FarCry is a must. P-E-R-O-D. PERIOD!.. as Shaq would say.

Other than that, Jade Empire, Deus Ex: Invisible War & Thief: Deadly Shadows get th' ol' thumbs up from yours truly.

Lastly (and it ain't the most accessible game) Operation Flashpoint Elite does things EVERY true & hardcore gamer should experience.

And get on that Rallisport 2 once ya get it. It's one of my all-timers.

Thanks people you guys told me about a lot of games I had not heard of.

For people wondering, I do not really want multiplatform games on xbox because I have a ps2 and plan to make that my longterm main console. I mean that since all these discbased consoles evnetually will die, I rather would keep all the multiplatform titles concentrated on one system, so I can just buy a few spares of one console and never lose the ability to play my gaming library for it.

KBFloYd

I too prefer vice city over san andreas. San Andreas jsut tried to do everything at once (giant map, rpg stat building elements) and it suffered for it. Vice city was like GTA 3 but with upgrades. The map size is big enough but not too big. I dug the 80s scarfac movie theme.

I dont own gta games on xbox, but I hear they are annoying controler wise since the xbox controller only has 2 shoulder buttons while the ps2 controller has 4. I think my friend said on xbox you have to use the white and black buttons on the xbox controller for some important things, when on the ps2 controller you can jsut use the other 2 trigger buttons.

DraugenCP
I've always wanted to play that...except it never showed up on stores in my area. However, it's about to be scratched off the "Xbox exclusives" list when the Oddboxx hits the PC. (Can't wait!)

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Jbul
Multiplat, though the PC version tends to be a bit finicky on modern systems. (Or maybe it's just Vista/Win7. Not sure.) Xbox version would probably be a safe bet as far as compatibility is concerned, as all console games are.
Ditto on the Operation Flashpoint: Elite if you can track it down.FALXCLOAK
Hardly an exclusive when it was a port to begin with, but I might offer up my copy of OFP: Elite. Still had a great time with it despite it stressing out the Xbox and not having the most optimal of controls due to its PC heritage. (I basically moved on to ArmA, maybe ArmA II if I can find it cheap enough during the holidays.) The usual Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future recommendations still apply, even if they've already been mentioned quite a few times. I'd also throw in Metal Wolf Chaos, but you'll need a Japanese Xbox, and even then, the game doesn't seem to be that common in its native Japan. And, finally, if you've got the money and the space: Steel Battalion. Yes, some people are still playing the Line of Contact multiplayer expansion, just over Xlink Kai rather than the downed Xbox Live.

I'm glad people mentioned the KoTOR games, even though at least the first one is on pc also. But pleh on pc! ... unless we're talking about Diablo 2 & 3... Also glad someone mentioned Phantom Dust. That is definitely a diamond in the rough. It's so under the radar it's underground like Harriet Tubman. At its initial release, neither employees at Game Crazy nor Gamestop knew what i was talking about. I had to order it online.
