Ive been asking a lot of fighting game players about these 2 games, and all of them say that SF is a lot better than SC.

Why is that?

To a point its a matter of opinion as always but for me SF is a much deeper and more intricute fighter where you really have to know what you're doing and have ..ya know, skills. SC has always been a bit of a button smasher where if you could pound the controller on your face and do just as well as someone who's mastered the game..

Ironically it´s pretty much ok for what it is in SC.It´s not like there´s a tactical Weapon-based Fighter out there.

SF has been around much longer thats why it has more popularity. Look anywhere and you will see old schoolers who despise everything new no matter how much better it is simply because they played those games second. I would never choose SF over SC. or second. or even third. maybe not even forth lol. SC is extremely fast and fluid and complex. It may have more simplistic combo inputs but it has block/parry, grabs, gaurd breaks, juggles, and stunners which is alot more freaking depth than SF. Saying you can just pound random buttons and be just as good as someone who is good at the game is a joke.

I also love the fact that SC has instant replays of killshots and that during the match you get 1-2 seconds to molest your opponent before the match is over. Thats almost as good as a fatality but not good enough. I wish SC had some kind of KO animations you could activate. Everyone needs to rip that off from mortal kombat. They dont have to be bloody and gory and stuff but they should all have SOMETHING. I also wish SC had full match replays. When I play with my friends crap happens so fast I dont even have time to enjoy whats going on. As soon as the match begins its all out offense. I forget what its called in the military. Rapid Domination or something like that. 15 seconds and its all over.

SF is pretty plain jane, even this new one the animations are kind of lame. You basically create combo's by complex button inputs to do single moves and then string them together. Yeah I guess it takes more skill to do that but to me it is unnecessary. That kinda defines capcom in a single word. unnecessary difficulty in games. unnecessary controls schemes. But SF was the best fighter around back in the day and had all these cool unique fighters. The alpha series added a great dimension where you build up this meter and then you can unleash a flurry of attacks upon your enemy. That was hella cool. But other than that and its minigames SF doesnt even come close to the fighter SC is. SF is 2d to the core and they have had 50 thousand versions to try and blow our minds and do something unique over the years and have failed for the most part.

I think SC has done one thing wrong. I fear they have created a plague that will spread throughout every fighter game. Stupid irrelevant cameo's from other games/movies/characters. SC has had Tekken characters, Spawn Characters, Zelda, and now Star wars?? *vomits*. And it finally spread to Mortal Kombat with MKvsDC. *spews vomit everywhere*.

For me it goes like this: SC>DBZ Budokai tenkaichi > MK > DBZ Budokai > SF/tekken/Virtua/Bloody Roar/whatever else.

Im also scared of video of what looks like a new air juggle system in SC. It looks like a copycat of MK's air juggle from Armageddon and I think it might have been a move in the wrong direction. You should always be in control of your fighter. But I havent got to play SC4 so who knows. I have faith it just worries me! hehe.

Anyways gamers who refuse to except change can die! SF vs SC is a no contest. SF does not have the cred to step in the ring with SC.

i found SC to be one of the worst fighting games i have ever come across. it tries too hard with its gimmicks to live up to the straight up fighting that SF does way way better. i prefer SF, tekken, killer instinct, pretty much anything to SC

the weapons and all their variations. i know many people love sc, my wife included, but i abhor it. i found that the games try to increase their depth in a way that just seems artificial and unnecessary.

Actually, there is nothing complex about the input for SF games. The skill is knowing when and how to implement the move set.

And no SC has yet to even approach the level of balance and quality found SFIII: Third Strike or even SSFII: Turbo.

Actually, out of the major 3D franchises, including Tekken, VF and DOA, SC is trailing dead last in terms of quality and balance.

SCIV may change that but I have my doubts.

My favorite is X-men Vs Street Fighter! That game was so much fun! I loved doing the Sabertooth guaranteed super death combo if the first attack lands. Oh how I remember that combination: 3 hyper bars full and then slam a double fireball type motion to activate the claw charge. Wait until the 3rd pass and time a double dragon punch type motion to activate the claw flurry move! then just before the claw fluffy finishes slam on another claw charge while your opponent is still a meat puppet. No more play!

And Cyclops with his BEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!! Fills up the entire screen making it totally impossible to dodge! Everyone can leap 200ft into the air and Juggernaut is so ridiculously big and then you got them awsome double team up attacks.

I prefer SF series. I prefer 2D fighters over 3D any day of the week. With that said I still do enjoy 3D fighters and Soul Caliber is my fav 3D series.

On a separate note I don't like the Juggling in Tekken. It's always what put me off the game. If i think i'm more likely to cast out a fireball then lift a 2 ton robot another 3ft into the air by touching him with my foot while he is falling.
