Everytime there is a difference of opinion on these boards some -------- will always get on here and think its totally acceptable to counter the other persons point by saying something along the lines of "some/most/only [genre] gamers are the only ones who have a problem with this game/love this game". The person saying that doesnt have a --------- clue what kind of games another individual likes or doesnt like. Just because somebody likes one type of genre doesnt mean they absolutely abhor all the other types. Likewise just because a game falls into somebody favorite genre doesnt mean they love it either. People are individuals and im sure most of us judge games on a game by game basis.

But saying crap like "this game wouldnt really appeal to action-rpg'ers" or "The only reason they like this game is because its free roam" is just ignorant and needs to stop.

I dont mind seeing people with different opinions than mine, but what I can't stand is --------- who pigeon hole somebody elses opinion or try to marginalize them.

**I'm all in favor of better argumentation tactics... but let's keep the discussions about the games and try not to knock the people who play them. Thanks**

Thanks for sharing but really belongs on a blog, but then again nobody reads those. So yeah, I agree with you on that even though I probably haven't seen anyone say that before.

Well this is the internet. People almost always generalize and follow trends just like outside world.

It annoys me everytime somebody says shooters are mindless or w/e. It's like no one can have an opinion with those people.

Actually, my friend abhors all RPG's and plays almost only action games. It annoys me extremely, but it's not because he plays action games, it's the overall expectations he has for them. He expects all games to be fast-paced, rythmic and so forth. He says that all RPG's are slow and endless button-mashing. I don't have to tell anyone that his "views" make me insane. He also states that sports games and turn-based games aren't good. AND he says MGS isn't really worth playing a second time, and listens to Yahtzee. My argument has become obsolete, hasn't it. All in all, it's not the genres, it's the expectations.

Oversimplification, hasty conclusions, and pigeonholing are the lifeblood of poor debaters. Point this nonsense out for what it is when you see it.

I see your point Ab and I agree: everyone should watch his own gamepad and let others decide what they like or dislike. On a side note: All -------- ----------- are just -------, ---------- ----- --- ---- or even ----- ------ ----- and totallly --------!! :P

That's how the WWW is these days. You have people who love to stereotype because they cannot accept the fact that people can be different than the categories people place them in. And I have to laugh at those saying this belongs in a blog. What is so wrong about his topic that it doesn't belong here?
