I haven't played it, but I think the hype hurt the game. The creation aspects of the game are fantastic. The creature creator demo was a massive hit and it only provided a fraction of what you could create. But, the actual gameplay elements are simplistic and don't have nearly the same level of depth. But, this may have been by design to make the game more marketable to the "Sims" category of gamer.
As far as future games, I try not to get too hyped about any of them. I've been burned too many times by being overly excited for a game and it turning out to be steaming pile. About the only games I'm excited for at the moment are de Blob, Left 4 Dead, and Animales de la Muerte.

Diablo II = best game ever
FFVII = 2nd
MGS series has the story and emotion more so then any FF game imo. Vice City had a terrific story and atmosphere as well. Those games are so good that they should be turned into a movie.

Ant game that is as hyped up as spore was will disappoint because people will be expecting so much from the game. There cannot be a best game ever because everyone has different opinions and views. By the way are you sure that your graphics card is up to scratch and that it is compatibale with the game.

good..but not the best game ever, Gears, fallout 3,KZ2 and R2 come to mind as games that have too high of expectations..
