Star Fox is doing in a bind seen here:Source: http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/29187/miyamoto-star-fox-will-be-reborn-if-people-buy-3ds-remake/So Apparently if the new rehashed Starfox 64 3D remake does not sell Nintendos expected numbers, no more Star Fox.

Wondering what the legacy gamers got to say about this?

Well first of all, I will be getting Starfox 3D when it comes out, and if it doesn't sell like Nintendo expect and they can the Starfox series altogether it would be a shame, it's a great series and I'd hate to see it dissapear. On the other hand the great starfox games will still exist even if they make no more of them, so I guess we'll at least still have those.

I could do without StarFox to be honest. Meh, no big loss.

I liked Starfox, shame if it ends up cancelled, though I assume that Nintendo will put in the necessary marketing budget , it has some history.

Not really interested in that remake but I'd like to see a Wii-U Star Fox that would look like the SNES original did (only much more detailed).

(like this only far more polygons:

ultramega9

that I agree with.

retracting my earlier comments, I guess i didn't mind the original Star Fox that much, but I hated the N64 one due to the controller being so horrid, and the NGC star fox titles weren't very good.

I always found the unreleased Starfox 2 to be an improvement over the original in every way. heck in some ways I prefer it over the N64 version.

I honestly had no idea an unreleased "starfox 2" was in existance Dark.

was it supposed to be on SNES with the FX chip thing?

The only Star Fox game I ever really played was 64. That was a great game for me, but I don't care much for the others. I don't think it'll be a huge loss if the series goes out...

ill give it short, easier than the original but not easy as such. though overall I find it to be more fun than the original , it has a good balance of linearity and non linearity in the mission process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWRP2NJ8HqA here is an interview with one of the guys who made the game (also one of the guys who worked on the SuperFX chip)

The only Star Fox game I ever played was Star Fox Adventures (which I'm told isn't even 'technically' a Star Fox game).

I hear the Star Fox games are great, but personally I wouldn't care if they disappeared.

Hopefully this won't come to pass. I really enjoy the Star Fox series and it would be a shame to put it away for good. I don't understand Nintendo though, they claim that Star Fox 64 3D needs to do well in order to "save" the franchise and yet the last Star Fox release was in 2006 with Star Fox Command and now instead of giving us a new game they give us a re-release. Just doesn't seem like Nintendo is trying that hard.

This is true for most of their 1st party games that come out each year. It's nothing ..new.

I spent a lot of time playing the Starfox on the SNES as a kid, it took alot of practice, but I was able to beat the game and reach all of the different paths. I loved Starfox 64, it seemed like the skies were the limit for the series after that. Then came the gamecube version, and while some of the flying levels were good, the ground 3rd person action was terrible in my opinion and it seems like the series has not been able to re-establish itself from that mistake.

I would love to see a re-boot to the series and not just a 3DS remake. But based on the story in the link the TC posted, I am not too sure if we will see one in the future

I love Starfox but I am not going to allow Nintendo to hijack me. I do not dig remakes. You want me to purchase a Starfox game make me a new one and I will be all over it.

Such a shame, I love the StarFox franchise, it is my second favorite series from Nintendo after Metroid. That said, I'm not gonna give Nintendo a free pass, I bought StarFox 64 on launch day back in 1997, I'm not going to pay full retail price for the same game I played 14 years ago. It pisses me off that the entire Wii lifecycle never saw a proper StarFox game, if they wanted to see that series sell, they should have made a game for that console.

Most of the fans are (quite stupidly) wanting Nintendo to make a game where you just Fly the ship anyway, but since when do Remakes, or New games that use old formulas ever actually do justice for the series? (See Megaman. Not doing well right?) Basically, Nintendo think there is enough Star Fox fans left who would buy this game. Nintendo is starting to act more like Capcom everyday. Next, you can't start a new Pokemon game you can only buy a new DS card. HAhA
