I haven't played fortnite so i cant say if its good or bad. But what irritates me is that almost the whole home page is filled with fortnite news while leaving out the rest to last.

This is not justified so please change the methods.

A big thanks to who ever deals with that.

This is a games discussion board. Nothing will come of a post like this. I wouldn't expect anything from it, but your best bet would be to email GS support

@bluearchan: You must be new here. Last year majority was making articles/ blogs/ threads for Destiny 2, before that Overwatch, The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, etc.

Doesn't matter if these games are good or not, if it has a multi million marketing campaign. Media will jump on the hype-train and talk about it, and act like it's the greatest game of all time. It's what they get paid to do, and some on the forums follow that example likewise.

Regardless if you want to make new and interesting threads/ blogs, no one's stopping you. But complaining about the mundane list on home page or in the forums doesn't do anything, you can always ignore them.

Personally haven't followed the home page in a while. They usually don't cover games I like and still remember when they trashed on D00M IV while overly praising FO4.

On the homepage click recent articles instead of popular and your problem will be solved.

@vfighter: Agreed. I always have to do that because they try to give me articles from over 12 hours ago

I disagree. Each of the first five news items are all about fortnite. I have been noticing this since a couole of weeks. Thats not how you maintain your worth as a gaming website to be honest. I strongly recommend to change this method. Its biased partial and focused not free or dynamic.

I can think of other videogames that are way better than overhyped Fortnite

True, but those games were also new.

Fortnite has been out for a while. We don't need the constant bombardment; I am fine with ads, but ads masquerading as articles? It get's old. Would be nice if there was actually some game journalism going on. It could even be about Fortnite as long as it was insightful, meaningful, well-written, or educational.

exactly.

and it goes further sometimes in areas that arent even legal but usually are.

for example, if Gamespot sends out its staff to E3 well they are going to write about the games that have paid to have a booth at E3 because they dont have time to write articles about every game ever which is fair. However, then the devs who have extra money invite members of the press for a dinner, or an exclusive view and they hype it up, authors get hyped up, authors dont have time to look at games not within their schedule.

then the next thing you know there is a glowing article written about a game. totally legal, nobody is directly paying them to write praises, but it works anyway (and said article dont have to have 'paid' next to them)

that is how marketing works

Not sure I agree, Destiny 2 and Overwatch got a ton of articles and hype threads after launch for a very longtime. I would say Overwatch is only just starting to die down on the home page also because no one cares for a stupid hamster.

Destiny 2 only got dumped by many over the developer tricking Gamers with an experience system, so supporting the game is considered bad business.

And Fallout 4s article backlog on GS is stupid, check it yourself. It went for years.

Lastly it's worth noting Fortnite had a repackaging when it added Battle Royale, the game was already heavily marketed on GS with StW and they stopped due to its lack of popularity, till the F2P mode was added and GS now has just joined the bandwagon.

Last time i checked there were seven 7,articles about fortnite on the home page. Marketing is one thing but just dont bombard us with materials about one specific game. There are other users out there waiting for some other usefull articles. Like after Resident evil 2 remake they could have wrote something about reviving old games and what do people expect. I know its in the forums but an article from a pro is better. And if its there then there are just tons of ther stuff they can write about.

Like Resident evil 2 remake

Preach!

In a perfect world Resi2 would be getting more notice around here. Yet sadly not many care for Survival Horror anymore, it's become a niche genre. And even when we see new Survival Horror games they commonly get criticised for being old fashioned, and lacking some stupid multiplayer modes. Hack n' Slash gets the same treatment and I fully expect GS to brush over DMC5 as well.

In honesty would recommend other places for gaming information if you want more variety. Destructoid or EZA being good examples.

I guess it's all about marketing and money but I hear ya.

That kiddie stuff just doesn't interest me in the slightest.

But don't worry, there are plenty of big games coming up in the not too distant future.

As if there isn't enough marketing enough in the world already. (sighs loudly)

Personally not into Survival Horror myself either.

Any ads suck..
