imo it's kind of over rated. Guil;ty Gear>>>Street Fighterdante_123456
Guilty Gear is great too. It's just way too complex for beginners to get into. Or atleast too deep for them to have a chance.
I love the Street Fighter games, especially Street Fighter II, and Guile is my favorite character of all the Street Fighter games.
But I hate it when people use E. Honda.
My little brother just loves to play as him because E. Honda can do that easy "Thousand Hand" attack that drops your life down by a bunch. Thats the only way he can beat me at SFII.
Thank God that they fixed that in the later editions of the game, now its a little harder to pull off, and does less damage.
(Awaits DarkCatalyst)
In all seriousness, it's a fantastic series. Third Strike is 2D fighting perfection...

Hundred Hand Slap has lower priority than the shoto c.MP (which can two-in-one into Hadouken, FYI).
Problem solved.
I love Street Fighter II and it's various versions, but that is the only Street Fighter game I like. Street Fighter II is quite possibly my favourite fighting game ever. But I do not like any of the future Street Fighter games like Street Fighter III.KnightsofRound
You're missing out. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike is video gaming at its finest.

So very, very true.

I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything because I've played it and I didn't like it at all. I don't like the direction that the Street Fighter series went in, which is why I prefer Street Fighter II. I like the gameplay better, and the art direction as well as the cast of characters is much better IMO.
The 2D fighter you want to be playing is Street Fighter VS Marvel Super Heroes on the Sega Saturn. The one with the 8 MEG Ram cart, that is the Mac Daddy of the 2D Fighters.
Norimaro for the win!!!

The problem with Guilty Gear is, like Marvel, it demands more than just tactical aptitude on the part of the player. When you start asking for physical conditioning on top of that (as Guilty Gear and Marvel do at high levels), you're crossing a line that the fighting genre is far better off not crossing.
Street Fighter is better because it's more strategic and methodical.

It got more interesting in CvS2. Honda uses RC Hands, other characters counter it with some RC of their own. Very entertaining.
