What is one game that everyone else seems to like, but you just hate?
I absolutely detest Grand Theft Auto. I always have, and I always will. I like sandbox games, like Mercenaries, I just hate GTA.

Would have to say Crimson skies Road to Revenge.
Highly rated by reviewers and fans alike for its 'Indiana jones meets GTA' style.
A bit poo i thought and i sold it after 3 hours of repetetive flying.
There is no valid sane reason for not liking GTA lol.

I go into an uncontrollable killing rage whenever someone mentioned Shadow of the Colossus or God Hand. I beat SoTC and the crap people say about is utter bullcrap. They say it has ultra beautiful environments and an aweome emotional story *vomits*. Give me a break. The environments are average at best, the story is lame, and the rest of the gameplay is beyond shallow. Its a worthless experience.
God Hand is an abomination. The custom combos and moves were NICE. The actual combat sucked hardcore. Theres no way in hell you can call it a good beat-em up when your guy controls like a TANK. The graphics look like arcadey trash.
Those are about the only two that illicit that kind of reaction. Well I guess I also hate it when people mention crash bandicoot or spyro or other crappy kiddy games._AbBaNdOn
SotC was beautiful in that it had a very imaginative artistic design, not that the graphics were amazing. The story was intriguing IMO, and the gameplay was extremely unique, unlike any other game out there :/
Also, the old Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games pwn all ^_^
I have to agree about the GTA series. Maybe I am just turning into a prude in my old age (42), but I just can't see the reason for a game that glorifies the worst aspects of "humanity" to such a high level.Caemyr
That right there is the problem. You think thats why people love the game so you take an anti role. Doesnt even sound like you have played it as you are so offended by it.
Dude the game IS awsome. its a flying game what you expect a fps?Would have to say Crimson skies Road to Revenge.

if you re a true gamer you will like any genre (like me) i might not love rpgs but every now and then i get the urge to play em.
and a true gamer will play any game no matter what rating it gets and no matter what other 'gamers' say
I would say GTA, but that's mostly because I loved the Driver series. I dunno, it was always more fun and fancy-free than GTA (driv3r excluded because let's face it, Atari is horrible).
Personally, I can't stand Bomberman. Every time I see it, I think "gee, bombs." It's also true that every time I see Gradius I think "gee lasers," but at least there I get a little more gratification. I dunno, I'm really good at Bomberman (to the point that others celebrate beating me), but I yawn in the middle of battles. So I own Bomberman '93 solely to quiet others from complaining about Sin & Punishment and so women will actually play Wii.

That doesn't make any sense, if you don't like something then you shouldn't force yourself to like it. What's a true gamer anyway?

World of Warcraft. I played it for a couple hours with one of my friends max level characters. I was allowed to cast whatever I want, fight whomever I felt like, and die an unlimited amount of times...
The first hour was pretty much spent figuring out controls and the like, but that last hour was torture. I couldn't get into it, no matter how much enthusiasm or advice my friend tried to instill in me. It also makes me angry that there's less time to hang out with some of my friends because they play WoW...it makes me want to kick a baby.
Halo
seriously whats so great about being a power ranger in very cliche story ?
oh now when to think of it, i dislike Mario too, enough with that fat ugly guy...
Don't sweat it, FFVII had all of those problems when it came out. I really could never wrap my head around how a game with such restrictive and repeditive gameplay was supposedly the best thing on the playstation, let alone the greatest game of all time. I remember getting up the morning after first trying the game out and finding it difficult to give a damn about the thing.GTA: san andreas, never got into that game.
wii sports: i get it the wii can follow the controller >__>
final fantasy 7: it might just because im playing 10 years after it came out, but it has quiet a few problems...

It's isn't as much as a game I can't stand as a gameplay.
See, if I don't like a game, I don't "can't stand it!", I just don't play it. Some games however mix and twists different gameplays together.
If I enjoy gameplay A and must do gameplay B, then I won't stand a game and eventually I will HATE it. Raiding in MMOs comes to mind as the worst possible example of such a poorly executed idea. See, when you adds gameplays, you make the new gameplay avoidable, not more rewarding.

False.
To me, it sounds like you force yourself to play alot of games or maybe your train of thought is, "This game is awful, but I'm a true gamer so I'll finish it." If a game is bad and I don't want to play it anymore, that just means that I know what I like.

wow, that made me laugh
Metal Gear Solid.....I have played all of them except 4 (including the pre-3D stuff), and have personally hated each one of hte 3D games.
It's the combination of massive hype + the most retarded story ever told + extremely bad dialogue that goes on forever + gameplay that hasn't evolved since the first 3D game
Hopefully #4 changed enough for me to like it, but I'll definitely wait till it's a budget title before buying it or play a friends copy.
