LTTP.
There isn't a Zelda game that I've played that I don't enjoy, but I've always been a fan of A Link to the Past.
That would be my favorite as well, and its a shame that few people have even heard of it, much less understand what makes it great. It's by far the most unique, dark, and challenging of the series; has the single most brilliant save system I've ever seen that allows infinite replayability of sidequests, dungeons and bosses, all on the same data slot; the masks were a welcome addition to the standard item inventory, especially the shape-shifting ones that granted Link entire new move sets, and the ever-useful bunny hood; and perhaps most importantly, it actually had the audacity to deviate from such rigid series conventions as the triforce, hyrule, gannondorf, and even Zelda herself. A true masterpiece that is sadly destined for obscurity do to its lack of notoriety and difficulty to emulate. In my opinion Majora's Mask, but barely anyone agrees.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time would be my favorite, its also my favorite game ever. But Zelda the Minish Cap would be my second favorite zelda game followed by A Link to the Past after that.
A true masterpiece that is sadly destined for obscurity do to its lack of notoriety and difficulty to emulate.creepy_mikeI wouldn't say obscurity. Most of the people I know who know Zelda or N64, know of Majora's Mask. I never tried it, because I was too afraid of the time limit. I hate games that impose time constraints on the gameplay.
In my opinion Majora's Mask, but barely anyone agrees.

You have encapsulated everything that there is to love about Majora's Mask so effortlessly. :oops:I've only played Ocarina of Time, and it was a great game. Probably one of my favorite games and one of my first. It's nowhere as bad as people make out. If you love Zelda, you owe it to yourself to try Majora's Mask.

If I can find it somewhere for a good price, I definitely plan on picking it up. At the time it came out, and even after the demise of the N64, it was too expensive for me to get. But I definitely want the game at some point.

Ocarina of Time, always has been my favorite.
Other good ones are Wind Waker, a Link to the Past, and the Zelda II: The Adventure of Link also rock, and Zelda II is strangely addictive for being an old game.
Minish Cap is also stellar. God, it's been so long since I played that.
But Ocarina of Time is not only my favorite Zelda game, but also my favorite game. Period.
The only one I could really enjoy was Four Swords Adventure. So...that one :P

Are you joking?
Twilight Princess is the best one. Ocarina of Time was the best if you consider the game compared to other games of the era.
Ocarina by a mile, followed closely by Link to the Past. Both had amazing music, but Ocarina had more replay and the bosses were better. Majora is good, never played the original, and TP blows, as its just Ocarina on Wii, but this time with poor music, and complete predictability.

Actually I greatly enjoyed FSA. We even got everyone together with 4 GBAs, 4 Link Cables and made an all-nighter out of that game. Good times. For the best Zelda game, I would have to go with A Link to the Past, followed closely by Majora's Mask. Forgive me for shamelessly advertising, but I encourage everyone to join the Legend of Zelda Union! Just click the banner in my sig.Ocararina of Time has always been my favorite since I first played it, so I guess that's what I consider the best in the series.
Majora's Mask for me. Solving the puzzles using 4 different forms is amazing. In my opinion it has the best gameplay, story, and even the best graphics and art style.
For me its the CD-i releases..:D
But seriously , i know its a cliched answer , but for me its OoT. I get goosebumps whenever i hear Eponas song :)
I loved Majoras Mask aswell , but i never got the chance to complete it :( Is it worth going back soon and starting again?
I'm sure everyone is going to flame me, and I swear to god I'm not a troll.. but for me the order would have to be (from best to worst):
-Majora's Mask
-Wind Waker
-Minish Cap
-Twilight Princess
-A Link To The Past
-Ocarina of Time
Ocarina of Time was just a big "'meh" to me. Besides for 3d it did nothing to challenge the old games, and bored me to death. Majora's Mask for sure was Zelda's most perfect title. SOOO creative and fun!
I think Twilight Princess was the best, since it seemed so epic to me. I liked OOT(also one of the best) since it seemed more medieval(TP was too Renaissance lol) and dark. Actually, I think TP seemed more dark in its storyline. Oracle of the Ages/Seasons is awesome but I have barely had time to play it. Screw it, they're all good!
Ocarina of Time made an impression on me from the day I played it 10 years ago, no, 11 now?
It's by far my favorite game of all time. No other game have I gone back and played over and over again so many times.
The excellent story, the smooth and incredible gameplay, the vibrant, detailed and lush graphics (even by today's standards!)
It was the first zelda game I ever played, and is nothing less than perfect.
Here's my favorites though:
1. Ocarina of Time
2. Twilight Princess (because in so many ways it did everything Ocarina of Time, and although being so similar could've been a negative, it was incredible!)
3. A Link to the Past/Wind Waker (LTTP is def my favorite 2d zelda ever, but Wind Waker was rather unique in more than one way and its just very enjoyable)
4. Majora's Mask
5. The Legend of Zelda (NES)
