The video game sprites and 2D mechanical (lateral and vertical) have been popular since the mid-1990s, with the revolution of textured 3D polygonal graphics with photorealistic finishes, and mechanical 3D, more open and spectacular static screens. During the second half of the 90s, and for much of the next decade of the 2000s, mechanical 2D video games, were minimum. At first the Boom of 3D mechanical talked about the past, which were in process of extinction. This was also the argument wielded SEGA recently, after the failure of Sonic 4 Episode 2: "The players of today do not seem to adapt to mechanical past." In 2000, Arc System Work conducted a small revolution with the drawing of sprites or bitmaps, in high resolution, for the first time, with Guilty Gear X. Serving school for other companies Examu-Aquaplus (Aquaplazza), SNKP (KoF XII-XIII), Vanilla Ware (Dragon's Crown), RCI (Shin Koihime Mosou Arcade Edition), Ubisoft (Rayman Legend). Now Guilty gear Xrd have, for the first time 3D polygonal graphics, but 2D gameplay with cel shading finishes, looking to cut costs and work time at par. With the boom cooling polygonal graphics and gameplay mechanics, 3D, and the emergence of digital distribution platforms, enable a niche of refuge, arcade-style video games (platform, beat'em up, shoot'em up , run and gun and fight 1 Vs 1) 2D game mechanics, made with low cost and minimum equipment. The digital distribution platforms such as XBox Live Arcade or retro fashion is fantastic, with many games they have come simple, straightforward and addictive, lateral and vertical scrolling. But we must have actual data to see if there are only four cats or people with nostalgia, buying these products or if new consumers buying these games, because if you only buy these games we grew up with consoles recreational or 8-16 bits, then are just a temporary fix, because when we buy fewer new generations will not, and then if they will die because they have no niche. An innovative mechanical or sublime history is needed to keep them alive in times of new technologies that may become in the future, much more immersive, with new technologies such as Virtual Reality famous. But today, it seems that everything is already invented, and platform games, beat'em up, shoot'em up, run and gun and fight Vs, some may provide in the future. So perhaps, form new hybrid genres such as Action-RPGs, Fight Vs-Beat'em up (like Monster Maulers Konami), run and gun, shoot 'em up (like Metal Slug 2 and 3), beat games 'em-up-run'n gun shoot'em up, beat'em up-run'n gun-role, ... seem to be the only way this kind of games, can continue to evolve and introducing novelty. It is true that most strip it safe and bet on the games they know they will sell, especially in the case of large companies with huge budget games, but I refuse to be so pessimistic, I'm sure we still have plenty to see and it is not all made up. The Christian Svensson comments last month of March of this year 2013, about the fighting game 1 Vs 1 begin to wear people in general are very consistent, fighting games are not currently selling but its usually very loyal audience, say that there are high chances that you buy Street Fighter IV also buy or Marvel VS Capcom Darkstalkers, but the market is not growing, it's the same group of people buying, and there comes a time to get new Games do not have any business sense and is a risk, as sales only unless and above will split the player base from previous games, very necessary to keep them alive in competitions and online modes. The same could be thought of shoot'em up, it seems that Cave Interactive, developed its latest arcade games, being practically a carbon copy of the previous ones, and it seems that this formula will lead worn them, if not already done so, to abandon the development of new games for arcades and consoles desktops, across platforms. For the same reason, perhaps, we do not see as many gun run'n games and beat'em up, in this generation of consoles desktop. On the future of arcade games, it is too early to tell, but even under independent work will always be there, for a small team and no budget is always easier to develop a simple and accessible game, and this leads to might leave a game to become a hit and create a new market based on this type of game. But it all depends, as I said at first whether digital distribution platforms, have and will have in the future new audiences, or if on the contrary, it will not. Large equipment is clearly intended to pulling high, large marketing and equipment 200-300 or even more people will pull by commercial AAA, which are aiming as well, appear increasingly routed to a single kind, or a kind of sandbox where you can do everything or an action game with RPG touches, leaving out online games and multiplayer-focused FPS. I understand all these messages and 2D arcade that their days are numbered, but I hope to continue to exist, but that if, being aware that these games have very low level of commerciality today, so its future seems reduced digital distribution games and low budget, although there are several Japanese developers seem to want to continue investing in this model, which makes me more hopeful, but it is something that only time will tell. How do you see this?

I expected that the subject was interesting, and we could start a little conversation on digital distribution platforms, niche games, your current situation and your future. But I see that I could be...
