3DS: Paper Mario, Heroes of Ruin (possible) Metal Gear, and one other that I can't think of

First game I got this year was Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Thoroughly disappointed:
the setting isn't nearly as fleshed out as renaiscence Italy (specially in the second game), despite having just as much potential,
not enough assassinations, the assassinations you do have are shallow,
lackluster, short single-player,
Constantinople feels lifeless -- I was looking for the type of vividness you got from the Venitian carnival or the festivities, instead I got a city that barely interacted with me (and it had so much potential! the bazaars, guilds, factions...)
I mean, the series had been on a roll. AC II was a direct SP improvement from AC I, and while Brotherhood's SP wasn't better than AC II's, it had more features, compensating for that. AC: Revelations is just a shorter AC: Brotherhood with a less vivid world. The multiplayer didn't improve all that much, and you only have two new gameplay features (hook (rofl) and bombs). And they insisted on the "one massive city" (albeit not so massive this time) instead of a handful of not-so-large but fleshed-out cities idea. Oh well. Did not meet my expectations, even if the game, by itself, is good, it pales in comparison to its brothers.
I preordered Mass Effect 3 N7 Edition which depleted my gaming funds for awhile, so that'll be the first 2012 game I get. Then I will wait for the release of Grand Theft Auto 5...
i am actually not sure. im so into all the games that came out this year that i havent really thought about it. but twisted metal is probably going to my first buy.
I still haven't picked up AC: Revelations. That's on the list, along with Bioshock Infinite & AC:III. Everything else, I'll have to wait for previews to see if I want it.
