I hated the fact that M$ "stole" Rare from Nintendo and that they consequently made only the (average) Star Fox Adventures on the Cube.
As a Rare fan, I expected them to continue making excellent games for the Cube but MS had to ruin that (and the company itself if we look at what they're now).
I was also slightly dissapointed by Mario Sunshine (I was surprised that my poor GeForce 4 MX card produced better graphics in Unreal Tournament 2003) and how Zelda turned out (from "realistic" to cartoony).
I also didn't like how every 3rd party dev was abandoning the console like it were a sinking ship (they couldn't even keep Resi 4 exclusive).
But I now think it was a good console and I find Wind Waker one of the best games.
It's just a shame they lost Rare and that they couldn't keep good 3rd party support (why did the Cube miss out on games like Burnout 3?).
Gamecube was indeed a great console. So many great games. I was just playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and, let me tell you, the Chao Garden is fun as hell and addicting.
the gamecube is my 2nd favorite console of all time, so many great games, finomonal controller, great design. i even like it better than the ps2 which i know a lot of people will disagree with me.Gam3r29
Not to mention that it was the first system to get RE4... that instantly makes it a winner.

Nintendo sold Rare. I don't see how Microsoft stole it. The main people that made all the great Rare game for SNES and N64 left the company. Rare hasn't made that many great games since Star Fox Adventures. Star Fox Adventures wasn't originally a Star Fox game. The game was supposed to be called Dinosaur Planet, and it was supposed to come out for N64. I don't know why Nintendo put Star Fox characters in the game. Other than the fact that the game wasn't like Star Fox at all, it still was a great game.
The first 2 years of the GC were great. The GC had a pretty good first couple of months with games like Rogue Squadron 2, Pikmin, Tony Hawk 3, Wave Race, Monkey ball, and Smash bros. The fall of the of 02 was rather amazing. the GC had games such as Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime 1, Eternal Darkness and Animal Crossing. 2003 was also great for GC with games like Zelda, Mario Kart, Soul Calibur 2, Rogue Squadron 3, F-Zero, Mario Golf, and Prince of Persia. 2004 is when the GC started to struggle. It had great games like Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin 2, Prince of Persia, and Tales of symphonia. The GC also started lose multiplatform titles. Burnout 3 did not appear on the console. DBZ Budokai was year behind. Mortal Kombat Deception came out after the other versions with no online. Games that were once exclusive to GC such as Viewtiful Joe went to PS2. Multiplatform games were being announced for PS2, Xbox and GBA, but skipped the GC. 2005 didn't get that much better. GC started off strong with Resident Evil 4, Battalion Wars, and Fire Emblem, but what else came out for GC that year? Fall of 05 for GC was rather forgettable. 2006 was basically the death of GC. Odama and Twilight Princess came out, the end.

Nintendo didn't sell Rare because they weren't their owners. Nintendo had about 49% or so of Rare's shares so MS had no problems buying them.
Of course they didn't make any great games after the N64 since they were under MS by then.
I wanna get that game soooo bad lol. :)Not to mention that it was the first system to get RE4... that instantly makes it a winner.

WHAT?! You've never played it?! What are you waiting for?! Go get a copy!
And it is the version with the best graphics! fairly certain the wii version is the claimed best version?[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"]

It is. But it's a better game for it and it was past the GC's lifetime so I'm not mad. I traded in my GC version for the Wii version a few years ago and I've been completely satisfied with it.

Sailing didn't even take that long, and I thought the exploration was awesome. You could find some really cool little islands in the middle of no where. Plus after a little while you could just teleport if I remember correctly.

A lot of (I was in middle school at the time) challenging and exciting quests and puzzles. Fun combat. Sneaking around. All the 'normal' zelda stuff was fun though
I love the game cube for these exact reasons:
- Super Mario Sunshine. (I really like it)
- Metriod Prime and Echos. (Retro Stideos Is awesome)
- Mario Kart: DD. (Mirroed mode on the Crown cup was hard as heck)
- Tony Hawk Underground: 2 (so much fun)
- And F-Zero Gx. (It the hardest racing game I have ever played, it's fun, it's hardcore, it had some of the best graphics on the gamecube NOT to mention that fact that it ran at a constant 60 fps at all speeds on one player and story mode. Even the story mode was good (thoughit was hard) I can NOT wait for the next F-Zero, I want it now.)
Gamingclone
I like it for THESE:
Mario Kart: Double Dash is one of my all-time favourite games, I put so many hours into it it's insane. I'm aways going back, trying to perfect my laps and get the best times.
I love the Gamecube, I still have it set up in my bedroom. I play Mario Kart, Super Monkey Ball and Zelda: Wind Waker a lot.

"RE Zero" & "REmake""Metroid Prime""Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" (BEST game EVER)"Super Monkeyball""Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee""Soul Calibur 2" (GC was the far superior version)"Simpsons Hit & Run" OMG YES! Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Was my favorit fighting game on the game cube right next to SSB:M...that's just how awesome it was. I'm so glad that someone other than me has played that great game. Also I agree Simpsons Hit & Run was also a good game.....I also agree with CloneFighters list. Please Log In to post.
