I have to say Soldier of Fortune 2. Even though it came out in 2002 there is yet a game when you shoot people in the head, chunks of brain, then bits of skull spray all over the place. The shotgun blasts to the stomach and you see intestines and organs gushing out blood. It GHOUL 2 engine was the best dismemberment engine created so far. I have yet to see an engine to outdue SOF2.
The most "brutal" game I've played is God of War. Ripping off a man's arm and beating him to death with said arm is extremely disturbing and extremely badass.
Hmm, I'm not sure whether this is the "Most" brutal game but I had some fun gory memories from Dead Rising with the chainsaws and lawnmowers. Ahhhh good old times of blood flying around and hearing the "grrk pfft" of Zombie's being ground to a fine paste.
My mind, if it were a game. Think The Darkness's Otherworld (the WW1 part) except bloodstained ground and millions to die by my hand and those of my minions. And that's what it's like in "My World".
Fallout 3, Gears Of War, but the most fun i've had was with God Of War and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, now those are pretty brutal games. Even if X men is ripping of God Of War alot it's a blast to play through.
The Darkness had some pretty brutal moments, such as the execution where you could shove a shotgun in someone mouth and basically blow their head off. Fallout 3 is pretty brutal too, especially some of the raider hideouts, like the school.
have to say F.E.A.R. 2, not only the most violent, there is a level toward the start that has so much blood spattered on the walls, i just sat back and laughed. what tipped it for me though was the moment you reach snake fist, that creature comes down and rips his head clean off... might go play now.
