For me it is Castlevania lords of shadow.

Depends on what you are talking specifically about.
In terms of being simply mind blowing in set pieces and action and such, Uncharted 2
In terms of being masterfully put together - Ocarina of Time
In terms of story - Metal Gear Solid 4
I'd have to say the game that opened the world of videogames for me when I was six years old. Doom. Been several games that has impressed me and that I consider epic and real gems but that game, Is the entire reason why I have Videogames as a hobby.TreflisSeriously? You played doom and you were six years old?
It's hard for me to pick one honestly and not sure if you mean gameplay or cinematic experience. So I'll just list the most impactful games at the time I played them. If I really had to pick based on story/world atmosphere/cinematics that managed to get a lot of emotional reaction out of me I'd go with the 2 in bold.
Shinobi Arcade
Sonic The Hedgehog 2D series
Donkey Kong Country 2D
Final Fantasy 7
Resident Evil
Mario 64
Goldeneye 64
Zelda 64
Half-Life PC
Sonic Adventure
Shenmue
Phantasy Star Online
Halo
KOTOR
Ninja Gaiden 360
Gears of War
Oblivion
Yeah had great times with those games yet the AI wasn't much of a challenge... AI was a massive let down, but then again I don't think my royal families cared when they were sat on golden thrones :D[QUOTE="Tazzman1000"]Any Total war game. Nothing is more epic than leading your armies to world domination XDalim298
a heroic tale, a touching enviremont, great battles etc[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"]
Define epic.

I'm just gonna say Majora's Mask then, because I think it's as close to perfection as possible for a game to be.
Runners up include Xenoblade Radiant Historia, Mario Galaxy games and others.
Goldeneye 007 even though it has aged quite terribly. Maybe they should release the online portion and let the single player rest in peace.
Not as epic as the battle of Hoover Dam in New Vegas. :DI liked Fallout 3's ending. It was epic - Liberty Prime versus the Enclave!

I have to go with ether Metro Last Light, Skyrim (for the open world), Max Payne 3 (holy crap the Airport lvl is just....so amazing), Mass Effect or Batman Arkham City.
Single player: Homeworld 2.
You set out on a what seems like a straight forward mission to save your planet form conquest with a, at first, rag-tag fleet and eventually build it up to incredible military strength. Then all of a sudden the stakes are raised even further. Facing planetary annihilation you set out to find what was your culture's God. Then, after a long search, actually find it and harness its power as a weapon to save your planet.
Multiplayer: Battlefield 2142.
Nothing can beat the rush of a coordinated, all-out Titan assault.
That's a good question, but a very hard one for me to answer. I have played so many games with epic stories to them, I've lost count. If I sit back, look over my game collection, and think on it for awhile I may be able to come up with an answer.
Gah, how could I forget! Just standing back in that game and taking in the fact that the game world you're exploring is basically one huge robot thing always sent light shivers down my spine. What? Nobody mentionned Xenoblade Chronicles yet? :o
So yeah, Xenoblade Chronicles. I could just go on and list 10 or so games, but that's taking the easy way out.

I mentioned it earlier. Yes, very epic game.
Fallout 3/New Vegas and the Bioshock series from this generation.
Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, and Heroes of Might and Magic III also.
Epicly lame, maybe. :P Most epic game for me... MGS4. The fight with Liquid Ocelot at the end. That was the definition of epic. What? Nobody mentionned Xenoblade Chronicles yet? :o
