What?  Nobody mentionned Xenoblade Chronicles yet?  :o

So yeah, Xenoblade Chronicles.  I could just go on and list 10 or so games, but that's taking the easy way out.

Epicly lame, maybe. :P Most epic game for me... MGS4. The fight with Liquid Ocelot at the end. That was the definition of epic.

Take it back buddy. At least Xenoblade is more than a movie.

I kid, I kid. But seriously, what was "lame" about it?

Fallout 3/New Vegas and the Bioshock series from this generation.

Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, and Heroes of Might and Magic III also.

I forgot about Chrono Trigger. That game was super epic on the SNES as well as FFVI

It played like an offline MMO, the battle system just did not excite me at all, the character designs were terrible, and the characters were terrible. I just couldn't get a good feel from any aspect of that game, and even by Wii standards the game's presentation was substandard. I've never liked any of that teams games, so it did not surprise me at all that I ended up hating Xenoblade. (Don't get me started on Baiten Kaitos, bleh!) I really hope their Wii U game finally hits all the right notes for me. For my money, The Last Story was the much better Op Rainfall game.

Yes, yes, we all know you didn't like it :P I see where you're comming from with the 'offline MMO' remark, but that didn't bother me so much. I also agree that it looked more like a PS2 game then a Wii game, but the things they tried to pull off... The sense of scale is unprecedented. If that meant that due to technical limitations everything was low-poly, I'm willing to put up with that. Also, the way the plot twists and turns... I remember thinking the game was probably going to be over soon, and I hadn't even reached the halfway point. And from there on, the scale of things just kept growing exponentially.

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine on hardmode surrounded by tons of Orcs. That really got me pumping, to quote my brother who also got the same rush "This is almost as good as sex".

No mention of God of war? I thought that game is about killing gods (which would make it epic)

alim298

I'm surprised no one said this either. In terms of staying true to what defines a literary epic, I think God of War is the closest thing I've played to a true "epic."
