The most overhyped game of the year

most games this year have been over hyped because of fanboyism:

rdr = gta fanboys hyped this game up rediculously, and its just gtaiv with different skins, now with....zombies!

reach = halo has been basically the same game since 2002....and suckers still "buy" into the hype

ffxiv = ff7 fanboys are still waiting for another game as good as 7 and still havent gotten it, but will continue to put the name on a pedestal

cod: black ops = same as rdr, just replace title with cod: black ops

moh = basically bc2 fanboys that just wanted a game that didnt contain cod in the title, and would take whatever they could get

starcraft 2 = the best game on the list, but so many wannabe mlg'ers out there that they bought this game just cuz hella other people did....and then they hack cuz they realise theyre terrible at it

im not even gonnan buy it because its only gonna be the same ol ,

so im going with that halo has been overhyed since 2 and i doubt it will change ,

i just don't see what every one enjoys about that game , every f ps has online now a days even goldeneye 007 is getting redone with onlineplay pefect dark 1 has added online so , ya i truely dont see any reason to pick up reach

Halo Reach. I don't know if it is good or bad but certainly that game was quite hyped. I also think the new CoD is being hyped alot. Miroku32

black ops is definitely a close second. that series is so overhyped, that talentless hack, the mariyln manson of(who single handedly killed) hip hop eminem even hopped on the bandwagon!

Maybe they should do a reboot like marvel movies lol..Make ff7 with todays graphics rofl..That would own an be sick..

Any how biggest let down this year star wars unleashed 2..Im just hearing some very bad things about it atm..It will be the biggest tank this year mark my words..

I'd have to say Halo Reach takes the award for this. It was so hyped up and it was the same as Halo 3, I didn't even look at Reach because I knew I was going to be dissapointed.

red dead that game is so casual that actually have a autoaim system , if anyone told me that this gen games have autoaim i will prob not believeit

You can very easily turn off the aiming assist in the options.

Have you actually played RDR? Because claiming it is a re-skinned GTAIV is just plain ignorant.

Just to go off of some comments from others, here is my take on some recent / future games.

Red Dead Redemption= Perfectly tuned gameplay, amazing story, infinite adventures, not a GTA re-skin.

Halo Reach= Same great Halo. Tons of new features, just to repetitive after so many years. Still fun with friends.

Final Fantasy XIV= Plagued with bugs. Shoddy production. Not the standards Final Fantasy hasbeen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops= Made by Treyarch. Call of Duty 3 and World at War were the least favored Call of Duty games. Already overhyped.

Medal of Honor = Standard modern shooter. Bland enviorment, colors, guns, and maps. I wanted much more from a Medal of Honor title.

StarCraft 2= Hackers everywhere. Everyone jumped on the bang wagon to buy this one. Solid title, but too many want-to-be MLG players out there.

Fallout: New Vegas = Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. Framerate issues. Huge let down after the success of Fallout 3.

after posting, i knew someone was going to say something along those lines. its a combination of not proof reading, tunnel vision, and being too lazy to edit...my apologies

as a matter of fact, yes i have played rdr. it may be my roomates, but just because its not mine doesnt mean that i havent put a good amount of time into it.

its not just re-skinned, no. but it does take quite a bit from the gta formula, thats what kind of eeks me about that game. that and i was a huge red dead revolver fan, and this game just didnt feel the same. yeah it was set in the wild west and had the first two words from red dead revolver in the title, but there was just something about it that didnt settle right with me. and now this whole "undead nightmare" dlc just tipped me over the edge. just not big on the titile.

there is some personal hostility towards this game yes, but i still believe that this game still was a bit over hyped. when i was driving around long beach seeing RDR ads everywhere (bus stops, billboards, etc) it was a lil annoying. and then seeing all my friends with it, including two of my roomates, i would say yes this game is a litlle over hyped. all the people that i know that actually game havent bought it, all the people that dont bought that game in the first week

Fallout: New Vegas. It didn't live up to the hype, and the scores that people thought it would have.
