I must disagree with the Nerd in terms of "maturity". Sure, the SNES had its share of games that were definitely no colourful kiddie games, but from my impression, the Genesis had far more of them, like e.g. Splatterhouse 2 & 3 or Chakan. Also, many games on SNES were censored compared to the Genesis version (or original versions on other systems), not only Mortal Kombat. The situation only changed after the Genesis version of MK sold far more copies than the SNES port.
Edit:
I have now seen MN12BIRD's video, and I must agree with him. For example, I've also got the impression that James' knowledge and/or game library is too limited for a genuine overview of what both consoles have to offer. MN12BIRD has already mentioned several titles, and it would have been nice, if James had at least considered, if and what the Genesis has in comparison to Zelda, like Crusaders of Centy / Soleil, Beyond Oasis/ Story of Thor and Landstalker, and what he thinks about them. Also, he does not really go into considering the games for Sega CD and 32X. At least, if he goes as far as permitting unlicensed third party extensions of the SNES, I think it's a bit unfair to exclude Sega CD and 32X.
Further, a huge thing that bothers me is that James did not regard all game genres. He left out shoot'em ups (one of the strong points of the Genesis), strategy games, action-adventures, simulations, puzzle games and adventures.
