Finished the real 5th mission. I don't know why they place the initial cutscene as an actual level, it just makes things more confusing in the end.

So far, my least favorite mission would have to be the 3rd one. It's a nice throwback to an older Halo stage, but I found it to be a bit difficult at time. It's incredible how much tougher Hunters have become now, especially coming from Halo:CE where they were simply one shot to kill if you hit their backs.

I think the story's fine so far. It's serviceable, I like how this game sets a much darker tone than the previous games, and the voice work is well done and seem to be a lot less corny. It's not going to set anybody's world on fire, but from what I've seen so far, I like it. It's much better than Halo 3's story, but then again, what isn't?

$200 in first day sales? Awesome! Kudos to Bungie.

I'm now part way through chapter 6 and totally loving the campaign. Fantastic soundtrack, especially in chapter 5. The enemy AI continues to impress me. Some of the first-person cutscenes have been very cool. I also really dig how they put up daily and weekly challenges for you to try to achieve.

Congrats to Bungie on the 200 mil.

I've got two more stages to finish up, then it's probably going to be a lot of Firefight and matchmaking. Campaign's still fantastic. and either the later stages are getting longer or the game is getting harder, cause each one is taking closer to an hour as opposed to the earlier 30 minute levels. After finally getting to play the level demoed at E3 earlier this year, I have to say that it was okay. Flying around in a space ship was a nice break from all the other gunfights, but most of the dog fights felt a bit too distanced, so it felt like I was shooting at specks for around 15 minutes. I started getting flashes back to "Fox, get this guy off me!"

I did try some firefight earlier, some in matchmaking, and some customs. It's strange, usually the game starts off a little sluggish and gives off button delay, but then things start to smooth out during the match, and I have to say that the campaign netcode feels much better. Still some slight delay, but not significant enough mess me up... so far at least. I also like how Firefight actually scales the rounds based on how many players. Playing a custom game with 3 people all together on normal was so crazy, it's probably the most fun I've ever had in a firefight game. Thank god they took the black eye skull out of the third round.

Now, to finish the campaign.

Yeah Firefight is awesome.

I finished the campaign on Heroic and overall it was fantastic but I have some mixed feelings on the last little bit to finish off the final chapter. It still was a very fitting way to end off the campaign. The after credits part was extremely cool. I loved the story and there were a couple of powerful moments due largely in part to the darker theme. The spaceship part was a nice change of pace and the fighting in zero g was awesome. Excellent enemy AI and I'm looking forward to my Legendary playthrough. I totally love the online multiplayer and all the stuff they've thrown in such as commendations to go for and the daily and weekly challenges. Lots of stats and medals to look over which I also love. All this along with the incredible Forge will ensure that this will remain a very heavily played game for a very long time.

Impressions of the first three chapters: (wrote this yesterday but couldnt post it because of the ban. )

It's good to have a great looking Halo game. I remember the first one being a pretty good looking game, but Halo 2 and 3 looked pretty bland at times. This game retains the scale of Halo 3 and adds tons of new visual effects along with a much better image quality. The motion blur on your weapons is a thing of beauty, it's subtle but looks beautiful. The weapons themselves look very detailed and carry a new sense of weight to them. Shooting now feels like it has more oompth to it, much like KZ2. The sound effects and rumble is turned up a notch, which makes shooting your weapons a lot more thrilling now. It's funny that while everyone is trying to be more like Call Of Duty in terms of shooting your weapon, Bungie has stuck to their guns and actually made them slightly heavier as well keeping the shields and armor on enemies instead of going the CoD way of killing your enemies with two shots. Wish more devs did that. (Looking at GG and ND here.)

Did I talk about the graphics yet? They are beautiful lol. The end of second level looked sooooo good. This game must have tons of post-processing effects going on because that scene looked fantastic. (Loving the auto-lock on the RPGs as well) It's still no KZ2 or Uncharted 2 but in terms of scale even GoW3 cant match it. The world seems huuuuge.

Good to see Bungie not wasting any time and starting with vehicle sections right away. I think we didnt get any vehicle sections till the 3rd Chapter of Halo 3. What sucks is that the friendly AI still cant drive for ****. Not even my Spartan teammate. She literally got stuck on a wide open road trying to go uphill. Here is a tip Spartan, press on the *****ing gas pedal!

i am not too sure about what the armor upgrade does btw. Yeah the animation is cool, but what does it do? lol

Firefight is excellent! I never got to play the ODST Firefight, but i dont think I am going to after playng the Reach version. I love that there a tons of different modes within firefights and then different variants of those as well. Having a human player hiding among the covenant trying to take you out is such a simple concept yet I dont think I have ever played a coop mode like this. (Then again, i havent played L4D yet) argianas, i saw you come online but Dez was just leaving so that's why we didn't invite you. We should try to play today.

I think I am just going to go and buy this game. This needs to go in my collection.

P.S Holy **** at the intro to the fourth level.

Ive been with Halo since the very begginning and I can honestly say that Reach is the best addition to the halo series story wise, lore wise,

and it just feels very stream lined. I had great fun just last night doing 4 player co-op campaign with my buddies without a hitch :D

I got the limited edition for Dr.Halsley's journal and it was definatley worth it because I love the lore in the halo universe and if you read Halo:Fall of Reach then you know what I mean.

I just wish they followed the books story not Noble Six but its completley understandable and I still love it :D

I hear this weekend is free online for everybody, so anybody that Silver might get some use out of it and save your trial codes.

Now, I finished the campaign the other day and I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. It only took 7 hours on Heroic. The last few stages were pretty dang hard, and my biggest complaint about the single player were the lack of some really big set pieces on par with The Ark, The Covenant in Halo 3, and Assault on the Control Tower in CE. Those stages still stand as my all time favorite levels, but the Reach campaign still packs a lot of great moments, excellent soundtrack and is probabl the most solid experience out of all of them. There's no really bad Library, or Cortana level thankfully, so that's already an improvement.

Story was fine. I would have liked to see some more interactions between you and the spartans, but it was enjoyable. If I'm remembering the books right, I think there might be some contradictions between The Fall of Reach and this game, but I'll ponder that another time. I've only had a sampling of the multiplayer, so I'll spend some more time with the playlists later.

Oh yeah, I like buying armor pieces and having them show on your character during the cutscenes. It's a nice way to personalize your Noble Six.
