Game of the Year :

  • Doom
  • Inside
  • Overwatch
  • Titanfall 2
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

of course there's a lot of categories but let's focus on the most important one.

what's your pick? who's your favorite?

my choise is DOOM, this was the FPS year with great titles like Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, COD:IW, Deus Ex, etc. but above all shines the most fun game i think, game that reminds us all that the talking about story or atmosphere or graphics are all important, but they can't make game good unless the core gameplay is good. DOOM's core gameplay is the best i've seen in years. it doesn't attached to any nostalgic aspect of "DOOM" franchise, it just simply a great game that focusing on how fun FPS should be. what's your choise? (from the list or not).

@nirogol: If you mean Gamespots GotY?

D00M will most likely get screwed. Game is fantastic, excellent level design and shooting mechanics, and Snap Map is a joy.

But Brown focused a lot of his review on the negatives. And based on the build-up, GS staff didn't think highly of D00M. And washed over it to discuss FO4 further.

It'll probably be Uncharted 4 or Overwatch_

My personal pick is Dark Souls III. With D00M and Owlboy being the two runner-ups.

(Copy/Paste what I said on GS news article related to this)

It's no surprise that Uncharted 4 was gonna be nominated for GOTY awards and I didn't expect to see Doom 2016 on the list as well but man, I enjoy both Uncharted 4 & Doom 2016, I want both of them to win it all but if I gotta pick on, it's Doom 2016 PC cause the game was really optimize well and it's the best singe player shooter I enjoy since Halo.

@nirogol For personal opinions I'm with you on D00M. Really enjoyed that game. But for me, DkSIII did everything I wanted and moar_

i'm going to have to wait until i've finished dishonored 2 and played the last guardian and civ 6 before i say conclusively what my personal goty is but currently i'd go with uncharted 4. doom was great and a lot of fun but to me wasn't the master class in fps that some claim it to be

These are the final nominees for game of the year? An indie title and 2 games which are essentially online shooters?

It's going to be awhile before I pick out the games for my Game of the Year list because I still need to pick up and play:

- Doom

- Titanfall 2

- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

- Forza Horizon 3

- Final Fantasy XV

@soul_starter: Don't point your complaints to me...i didn't made this list, and i've mentioned twice that you can tell what's your favorite whether it's on the list or not.

@Archangel3371: You starting to accumulate damn huge backlog... :)

I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm just wondering how these are the only nominees. Where did you get the list from?

@soul_starter: its on the website for the game awards. In fairness to Titanfall 2, the campaign was really awesome. But I really get annoyed when they do these awards before every major game gets released. Like, you can't wait at least another month?

@mastermetal777: You're right but it's pretty much close, we are in the middle of november....and i believe that people need to get some playing time, a game that out in december for example will be hard to get the best game title because of the time factor.

A fan? Sure. But not a dedicated one.

Had a lot of negative views about the first Dark Souls, and Demon's Souls. Namely for its terrible combat. Wasn't till Bloodborne that I actually enjoyed the combat and Dark Souls III just took the concepts of BB and added more variety and RPG elements. Dark Souls II hit a middle ground in which I enjoyed because of the online and sheer content.

I kinda look at the older Soul games; in the same light I assume id Software fans (I'm one too) look at Rage. It's ok, but not a personal GotY. Because of all the flaws.

If I'm a developer fan to anything in recent years it's probably Media Molecule/ Nippon Ichi/ Platinum Games/ and Vanillaware.

I also still like Capcom. . . Mostly. .

Hope they turn out well. I'll give a shout-out to Pokémon Sun and Moon. But considering it's on 3DS it'll probably be overlooked. . . So far I'm loving it!

Inside?

But wow Titanfall made the GOTY nominee list , and no Dishonored.... tsk tsk guess EA paid more than Bethesda.

But of that list Uncharted 4 is a clear winner. rest is fps shit and a disgrace to gaming.

Disgrace to gaming? uh? ok whatever...

you can tell waht you think it's all good, but why people have to decrease what they don't like, why not to tell what's your best game and that's it.

As far as their list goes, the only ones I really played are Doom, Titanfall 2, and Uncharted 4. The winner for me is Uncharted 4 by a landslide, though Doom was unbelievably fun, and Titanfall 2 had one hell of a good campaign in spite of how short it ended up being. I haven't played Overwatch or Inside, and I'm disappointed in the omission of Dark Souls 3 from the final GoTY listing.
