@Jacanuk: Well can't say I'd ignore something like that, in fact I don't. No more than six weeks ago helped someone who was having a heart attack at the train station, and plenty of others helped get him to the hospital once they realized the situation. But again, I try and be helpful and naturally assume the woman or man next to me will as well. Perhaps that's foolish, however I've heavily relied on good people alot and in turn do the same.
Assuming people being "scum" must come from personal experience, that I won't discredit. In your part of the world it might be vastly different. With that, when I see someone not help, it's due to confusion and fear. I don't hold spite for people like that, as stated ''go about life like any other'', and sadly not everyone is willing to help.
