I'm talking about the games from previous generations of gaming that weren't given credit where due.
For me, Legend of Dragoon was outstanding on the PS1. Yet so few know of it, or like it :?
What do you think was underrated?

Donkey Kong Country
This game was not loved by critics, in fact, it hardly got any love. I love this game though...lol

Alley Cat as in Bill William's Alley Cat? Nice choice although I preferred his Necromancer game I think. I'm with you on PN03 and especially Seven Cities of Gold which I completely forgot about. Good lord I used to play that game a lot and loved creating new worlds to attempt to find and explore.
The original Crash Bandicoot
Got overlooked cuz of Mario 64... but it was a fun 3d platformer (hey even if it was linear there were days/weeks of fun and frusteration had trying to beat it)
It was my first game though, got it like 11 years ago.
I wouldn't define it a classic, but Yager on the xbox is a great and completely underrated game. It's a fun arcade flight sim in G-Police fashion. It features a good plot, great graphics, easy controls and a quality script supported by a surprising voice acting. It is also fun to play because of the many cool one-liners the characters pronounce.
It sure did not receive the attention it deserved.

I didn't know who was Bill William. Now, you did mention him. I remembered about Alley Cat that I played it with PC, and Atari Home Computer (I owned Atari 130XE). Oh, I remembered about Necromancer. It was really good.
Add- BC Quest for the Tire (correct title?), Beach-Head, Cool Cool Toon
P.O.W for NesHonenheim
I was going to say the same thing. Kick ass game and one of the best for the NES!
[QUOTE="Abgoj"]Shadow of the Colossus, there's no other game like it.Honenheim
SOTC came out on 2005 so its hardly considered a classic.
Nor was it under rated either. A lot of people loved that game and even reviewers loved the crap outta SOTC.
I think the Road Rash series is just awsome. spanky333Omg I love those games. I'll give my vote for that.
The first 4 Tomb Raider games for PS1. They're some of the best games ever made imo, especially Tomb Raider the last revelation. Most underrated series of all time imo.
Earthworm jim 1 and 2 for the Sega Megadrive. Brilliant games but I never hear it being mentioned when people mention their fav games of the 16 bit era.
Flashback for the Sega genesismike7677
CD-ROM in a cartridge :) i played that game way too much in my childhood. I never beat it though :( I could beat every level except the last one. Also had it on 3DO, ohhhhhh 3DO...lol
Manhunt. Everyone frickin hates the game. I Loved it, best horror game ever.
Vampire the Masqurade: Bloodlines. Ultimate first person vampires.
Conker Live and Reloaded. Should have been huge, probably on the wrong console at the time, I want to see conker sequal.Â
Panzer bandit ps1 japan only.
I borrowed it and have been enjoying it immensely, it plays like guardian heroes for the saturn but with better characters and a easier difficulty.
Â
Edit: Forgot about Pandemonium, great underrated game.
