Fortnite seems to be a action/adventure/strategy/RTS/RPG imo - at least that is what would make it most fun to me

Nope, the whole thing is a big f***ing joke.

And people want the video game industry to be taken seriously; not like this it won't.

since when are video games supposed to be taken seriously? the whole point of them is to be fun, not a business meeting.

I think he means as an art form, or a just a respected form of entertainment. You know -- help elevate the medium. That stuff. I wouldn't mind that, honestly. 'Bout time this industry starts to mature in some regard.

Im actually kinda wondering if the threatening black guy thing was real or staged.. It did seem real since they wanted to get the camera off of him and take his mic away..

Respect is something that comes with time, its not contingent upon the quality (or presence) of award shows. Heck, music and video award shows tend to cause a lot of discussion about the behavior/clothing/companions of the celebs (who was showing the most cleavage, who wore a meat dress, who gave a drunken speech, who got ina fight, etc) and very little about the awards being handed out.

If developers want to take a night to dress up in tuxedos and get together, it won't change anyone's perception of the industry, but its harmless fun.

Am I the only one who thought that Alan Wake game looked interesting?

I didn't think much of the art style of that Epic built a fort game but the concept is interesting.

That was really bizarre. Seemed like they invited some blogger who hated last year's show to this one, with predicatable results.
