Nothing on your list can be more recent than ps1/n64 generation. Also, give a brief explanation of why next to each game.
1. Zelda: A Link to the Past (snes). It has some of the most cleverly designed dungeons that put today's best action adventure games to shame. The game rewarded your curiosity as there was a secret around every nook and cranny. It also had IMO the most memorable soundtrack ever. It's been about 15 years since I played it, and I can still hum every tune from that game.
2. Super Mario Brothers (nes). This was the first game I ever played that could be enjoyed for more than 10 minutes. There were so many new things this game introduced that it's hard to know where to begin. Every side scroller of the 8 bit and 16 bit eras owes a great debt to this game.
3. Final Fantasy 7 (ps1): I used to be turned off by rpg's. I found them to be boring, with lots of talking and very little action. FF7 changed my opinion about rpg's in general, and it really didn't even have to stray far from tradition rpg gameplay elements.
4. Street Fighter 2 (snes): Before this game came out, the idea of a whole game being about 1-on-1 fighting would sound ridiculously boring. I had so many great times playing this game with friends and showing off my mastery of every character's complex moveset (complex at least at that time)
5. Perfect Dark (n64): I know that goldeneye was the game that proved that an fps could be done well on a console, but perfect dark evolved on it in so many ways. It had a great story, an amazing soundtrack to which I can still remember pretty much every tune to this day, an amazing selection of weapons which is still unmatched even on today's games, and fully customizable bots in multiplayer (which is still unmatched by today's games).
