I was a lucky kid, my PS1 is what first got me into gaming - and I won it and Crash Bandicoot 3 in a competition my mother entered without my knowing.
Hehe, try and imagine how happy I was to walk into the post office and suddenly a PS1 box is dumped in my hands. Forgot how old I was.
Every system I bought was happy times for me :D , from the Atari 2600 to the current three systems :) , IALMOST GOT ALL SYSTEMS BABY8)
my experience was that my aunt gave me the n64then my brother gave me his only game mario kart 64. this happened when i was 3-4 years old
Christmas of '92, I believe it was. My brother and I pooled our resources and - with the difference made up by our parents - woke up to a SNES with Street Fighter II. That was 16 years ago (16 years!) but when I think back to that day I can still almost taste the awesome.
Each system I've gotten has been a good experience, but perhaps one of the better ones was in March of 1988 when I got my NES Action Set - my older sister, mom and I all enjoyed Super Mario Bros. the most, whereas my dad seemed to like Duck Hunt more. NES was my first console after being somewhat of an arcade and PC gamer up until then.
I don't remember exact dates for when I got another console other than September 12, 1999 when I got my Sega Dreamcast.
With all that said, my favorite console game is Twisted Metal 2 for Sony PlayStation.
I was happy to get all my systems, but I think I was the happiest when I actually bought my own system, and opened up the package myself. Systems like my PSP, my DS, and my Gameboy Micro.
However I was pretty excited when for either my 7th or 8th birthday I opened up a Gameboy Color, and Pokemon Red.
The system that I was the most excited to get was... NINTENDO 64!!! (Wasn't there a popular internet video on getting this system?) It was for my 10th birthday right after the system came out, and it's the only time I really remember getting a system being an event. I always had an NES and probably had SNES from an age too young to remember.
As far as games go, I can't even remember specifics, but I remember back in the SNES era I used to get games for Christmas and it was always fun. The game doesn't stick with me, but I do remember feeling very excited about getting them. After that era in gaming, I generally just went and got what I needed when it came out; Christmas/Birthday makes it more memorable.
System for me would be my SNES. I don't remeber getting my NES, but if I did, that might have been the one that made me the happiest. For game, I'd say it was probly Castlevania III.
Huh...It was either the SNES or Nintendo 64. Probably the Nintendo 64 along with Super Mario 64. The second that I had played that game, I worked my tail off to earn the money to buy the system.
Nintendo with Mario Bros.
My family was dirt poor back in the day and I didnt think their was a chance in hell that we could ever afford it. Both my older brothers threw in with my parents to buy it, one of the biggest surprises I think Ive ever had in my life.
Mine would have to be the super nintendo, i think i got it for xmas one time and i got super metroid and mario all stars with it, ahh those were the best days ever! Iv still got it and its still working fine, such a well made machine.
The Wii was the happiest because I bought it with my money and finally found a store that was selling it at the time. The game I was most happiest was probably between Twilight Princess for the GC after all the delays, Final Fantasy VII and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
I loved the N64 with games like Super Mario 64, Wave Race 64, Star Fox, GoldenEye/etc.
However I didn't have that many games from it (~15).
In the end I prefer my PS2 which has ~40-50 games and growing. :D
I was pretty excited when i got my Sega Genesis with Sonic for Christmas back in like 93 or something. I think all the other consoles I purchased myself. so they weren't as exciting as getting a christmas gift.
Definately Playstation 1 for a present. My first console. Got driver 2 with it was a blast. Eventually I got all the games my dad had that I loved: Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot.
Then I bought my first console the PS2 after alot of hard work working for my step dads boss at a car yard when I was 14. It was second hand though so it wasnt as amazing.
My first console I bought with my own money at retail was my Xbox 360. I was so excited, I planned to buy it like a year before. The E3 announcements and previews were all mmy life was I was so excited lol. I remember my mum loaning me $50 so I could pick it up early. i picked up Condemned and PGR3. I was so happy with PGR3 it had AMAZING graphics and was alot funner to play than the others. I liked condemned but I was dissapointed with the graphics to be honest even though I was playing on a SD tv at the time.
I was also hyped for the ps3 but the cost man.... anyway... My 360 broke, I thought screw this im not going to get another one and got a ps3 60 gb launch. It was a great system but not worth that much. Eventually I bought another 360 when the faults cut down and then upgraded it again to an elite which i have now.
good times.
man- that is an incredibly tough question...
