What game do you think has the best chance of getting game of the year in 2011?

Simple, what game do you think has the best chance of getting game of the year/best game this year, and explain. My money's on diablo 3 but it might turn out to be complete crap. I also want dead island but that has a pretty low chance to get GOTY, has a good chance to be an awesome and fun game, but it doesn't look like goty stuff to me.

Idk really. Personally, i would say Skyrim, mainly because im super excited for it. :)

Skyrim. People love their WRPGs.

Batman AC might take some too.

I just can't imagine Diablo 3 coming out despite what Blizzard is saying.

But Demon's Souls already did it, so how about Dark Souls.

In order of my expectations:

1. Uncharted 3
2. Skyrim
3. Battlefield 3
4. Batman: Arkham City
5. Assassin's Creed: Revalations
6. Portal 2
7. RAGE
8. Mortal Kombat
9. Dead Island
10. MW3
11. Gears of War 3

Hard to say, however, since9 of those games haven't been released yet.

I really hope it's Batman: Arkham City. I hope that all they hype built around it doesn't fall to being all for nothing. It's a superhero game that has a lot of great potential and I really think that it can get GOTY

I'd also say Skyrim, it's beautifully designd and ES has a pretty big fan base. If it got GOTY I wouldn't be surprised.

I'd like to see ACR and Uncharted three get it but I doubt it very much that it will happen.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North I think has a pretty good chance.

Unless Rocksteady drops the ball, Batman Arkham City should be a slam-dunk. Part of what made AA so fun was its mix of more open environs and tighter quarters, but I have high hopes for this team. Make the boss battles feel more organic and the game is perfect.

Uncharted 2 is one of my top 5 games this generation and I barely touched the MP. Mutiplayer is gravy on a game like this.

I have a huge feeling that Skyrim will earn a lot of Game Of The Year awards. The same goes for Batman Arkham City.

I think Deus Ex could pull off a surprise upset this year.

Star Wars: The Old Republic, maybe.

It'll probably be between Deus Ex, Skyrim, or Uncharted 3. Skyrim could easily pull it out, just look at Demon's Souls. It wasn't the most popular release of the year, but luckily that didn't stop it from getting it. Actually, it probably won't be U3 unless they do something incredible, and from the mp beta I don't see this being the case. So either Skyrim or Deus Ex, both will be great games so it doesn't matter which gets the award.

Not quite close enough to the end of the year to say for sure, but considering the forces behind Skyrim right now, it'll probably take the cake. Bethesda has slowly been learning the lessons they were taught by Oblivion, and they hired on some developers who are more competent at making good combat, so we should see a pretty stellar package. And of course, you know it's going to be moddable beyond belief.

Of the games released thus far that I've played, Portal 2. Of the ones yet to be released, Deus Ex and Skyrim probably have the best odds.

The Witcher 2 might would have a chance if they were somehow able to get the console release out quick and it still look and play great.

Geralt vs Dragonborn vs Batman vs Link? I'd say The Witcher 2 has a high chance of winning it (being a PC exclusive though... makes me have some doubts about it).

Skyrim. Dark Souls or Skyward Sword as runners up, or possible competition. These are my predictions for Gamespot only. Most other less professional gaming sites find a challange to be a fault, or Nintendo IPs to be 'kiddy'. Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3 & Assassins Creed will be megahits, but won't top those three (that's my guess anyway).

Outside of Gamespot? Modern Warfare 3. For the more tasteful sites, Gears of War 3 or Uncharted 3.

Edit: I know very little about it, but Dues Ex seems to have impressed most that have played it. That could be a shoe-in as well.

ive never seen a game completely improve every part of itself in a sequel like the witcher 2 has...not to mention perform and look better than other games in its genre(da2...smh) its fun...its engrosing...the choices are subtle and only a few have clear cut reprecussions...i wish every sequel was as much of an improvement as the witcher 2 was

I agree with this. Not sure about MW3 though, think it has a way higher chance of becoming GOTY since it's ridiculously popular.
