What games do you think are overrated?

Halo and Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy VIII and Kingdom Hearts. I like Kingdom Hearts but people back in HS thought it isthe greatest RPG next to FF7. As for FF8, I just can't stand it as it is the only JRPG I have that I didn't finish and it got a 9.5 here. It has great graphics for its time, the story was ok but nothing special and the soundtrack was awesome but the junctioning system and drawing magic is something I hated. Plus I didn't care for most of the characters as to other JRPG's.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!!

Assassian's Creed, Gears of War 2, Halo 2 & 3, WOW, Call of Duty 4,MGS 3, and Killzone 2(boring)

Bad Company, Halo (Game was dull, story was brilliant), Assassins Creed, GTA IV (very boring IMO), Fable.

I am surprised people say COD4, and Gears because those are probably my favourite games of all time. COD4 online is absolutely brilliant and single player was a blast.

Gears offered a great storyline, with squad/ cover based gameplay and i don't think they could have done it better.

I don't really know that any games are overrated.A game's only overrated if I'm right about it sucking, while the majority is wrong about it being good. That's unlikely.

The typical "overrated" argument usually goes something like this: "I think XX game sucks, but a lot of people enjoy it. Therefore, due to my God-given understanding of games, it realy does suck and is void of any good qualities. Everyone who does like it must be unsophisticated, stupid, or fooling themsleves." How arrogant.

Always put your rational bias ahead of others. If no one thought they knew better than the majority we'd never achieve anything. The majority is a faceless, pulsating mass of grey goo, conceiding to anyone's reality but their own. Rather than work to form their own opinion, they'll attempt to steal one without effort. Having no knowledge base to refer to, they'll let themeselves be molded into conformity.

Arrogance is the motive behind any human endeavor. You're will to succeed and the knowledge that you're right is all you have. Do not be ashamed to believe your view on the subject of video games is more informed than the majority. My discussions with others who have played video games are rather extensive, relative to your average person of the majority.Why would I assume their collective reponse more right than mine? People may ask for statistics and facts, they'll want you to explain why you're right. How can you? By who's code of values do you discern what is right if not by your own?

Well i would first have to point out oblivion. I read the review and hear dfroma few people it was a greta game. After playing for about 10 hour si realized it wasnt that good. One reason wa sthe constant game loading. I kno i may be retarded, but it took me hours ot figure out barter command was to purchase thing and it suckd because the book did not even explain it. Also i felt a general lack of stability within the game i mean you had set things to do but i would somehows end up going into random caves and getting my ass kicked then later learningcertain magic would be better suited for those areas. Also the level up systembother me simply becaus ei spent alot of time leveling up only to realize the monsters were stronger and i personally hate running.Anyway its my opinion and im preetys ure some of my points are wrong, but ultimately i realize di wasted 60 dollars.

The halo series i also believe are overrated. I had the original xbox, but wasnt too big of a fan of itand played halo 1 on xboxlive and since i didnt know how to play also haveng to play on one screen with 2 other people it really hampered my views. When i first got an xbox 360 the ifrts game i asked for was gears of war. Amazed by gears of war andi loved the whole cover rolling around mechcanic it has. So when i played halo 3 and realized it didnt have covering i already began to dislike it. Also it was jus overall not impressive to me.

The 2k series. I dont know i mean i hate them because they took all the rights to baseball and in my opinion stopped the best baseball game to ever come out MVP 2005(the one with manny on the coverdont kno if its 05 or 06). I was too used to madden and did not have enough time to pick up on the 2k footbal games so i guess it was jsut a sense of comfortability. I also never felt inpsired to learn how to play it. And there baseball games just piss me off. Im not crazy about sports games, but i logged in well over 100 hours on mvp baseball

Since the "What games do you think are overrated?" question equals "What games do you not like that everyone else loves?" I'm going to go with..

• Starcraft - I played the demo and through it was built off of rejected ideas for Warcraft.
• World of Warcraft - Its basically endless repatition wrapped in the best looking christmas present you ever seen.
• Halo - A cool idea that devolved into a mindless bug hunt.
• Half-life 2 - Not because of all the problems with Steam when the game came out. Its on this list because almost everyone said it was ok to be treated that badly.
• Diablo - Repetition wrapped in an RPG jacket is still nothing but mindless repetition.

i dont think even MGS4 is over rated if i remember correctly lots of people were put off from it because of all the cut scenes saying that although it was a good experience it was more movie than game so how the hell can that be overrated...that and the game was really good cut scenes and allfireknackers932
