What is everyone's issue with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds?

It seems like everyone is incredibly split over this game, and to be honest I don't know much about the debate. I've seen a little bit of gameplay, so I can understand why people would enjoy it, but I don't get why there seems to be so much hate for it.

People just like to hate. The game is very popular. Many who don't like it are either bad or haven't even played it. I understand it has it's issues on Xbox One, but it's honestly not that bad. Very much playable. It's still in game preview.

I havent played it but I heard its got loot boxes and stuff like that.

I do play fortnite though.

@blogstrum: No hate from me. The time I spent felt PUBG was a fun/ fresh game, with a lot of issues. So no reason to jump back in, waiting for a less buggy/ more well optimised experience.

And considering how much money they've made, and how little they've done to expand since the success of the Beta, I have little hope in the future for the game. A lot of me thinks it's the Pokémon Go of 2017.

Any game that gets incredibly popular is going to receive some hate from people that don't think that it is good enough to deserve it's popularity.

I think that it is also receiving blind hate from Playstation fanboys that are jealous and/or insecure that there is a popular game available on Xbox that they can't play on their PS4.

i was just as confused as u.... regarding the PC version, in another thread, same topic. anyway, it is split b/c, if u were unlucky enough to encounter hordes of chinese interent cafe hackers, it would ruin the game. But if u manage to get in a game without their overwhelming prescence then it is an awesome experience. hope that answers ur questions, also... the steam user reviews are split down the middle too, and this is the repeating theme i keep reading over and over.

But the good news, it seems like it is a lot better compared to when it had its cheating hacks at its peak.

@RSM-HQ: Damn, I hope that the devs don't abandon the title after they've made their money from it, not fair on the people who enjoy it.

wts, the split down the middle in the steam community is regarding the PC version only, so basically 50% of PC users hate/dislike it, the other 50% of PC users really like it... what does system wars have to do with it?

The thread was going just fine without blaming fans of competitive hardware. This isn't System-Wars; trying to blame and trigger people who use a different platform is simply stupid, especially when they have nothing to back such crooked logic.

Many have already stated why they're not exactly thinking PUBG is a great game and will continue, even check the Community Hub on Steam to know more. I think that's some real evidence to why the game is received as it is.

It's a good game, but at this point it could be smoother around the edges. With maybe more reason to go back after all this time.

Yeah, and if you go there, you will see exactly what I described. I did not say that it is the only reason that it is receiving hate, but you aren't paying attention if you don't think that it is one of the reasons. You left out the part of my post where I described the primary reason why I think the game (like all popular games) is receiving hate. The last sentence was just giving 1 more additional reason and it is a valid reason that you can clearly observe for yourself just by going to that board. Again, it's not the primary reason, but it is a reason.

I think it mostly has to do with the fact that it went from an independent, in-development title to a released title to flagship XBOX title really, really quick. I think a lot of people on PC feel that something that was not quite yet ready for the mainstream, something they helped develop as an early-release title, suddenly got a little "big for its britches".

As for why console players might dislike it, I heard it has performance issues *shrug*

It's more than people just being upset at PUBG "selling out", too; there are a lot of issues they still needed to iron out such as cheating, netcode, and various and significant bugs.

I have the game on Steam and aware on its mixed views, the rest, and expressed why I'm already done with the game.

Still don't follow? Storms post was bait for a particular platform that had no relevance towards the thread, something I expect from a SW poster. Next someone will blame Nintendo fans for the PUBG negativity just because; why not?

It has loot boxes, but they're only bought by in-game currency and strictly cosmetic. There is nothing wrong with that.

Guess I could explain what system wars as a term in gaming means, and common shit-posting the SW Forum is known for here at GS.

But I'll try and give you the benefit of the doubt towards piecing it together. This back-and-forth with you is pretty obtuse and not worth continuing.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. With one map it does tend to get old so I can only do short sessions at one time solo. It's not the best team/coop game out there but it's a lot of fun playing either with one other person or a full team. Even with all the technical issues, I actually prefer the xbox version since skill level ranges are closer to casual players than pc crowd, plus I encountered less instances of cheating on xbox (or maybe pc players are just really good).

@RSM-HQ: There is a difference between Playstation gamers and Playstation fanboys. Never did I mention all Playstation gamers in my post. That's you once again not accurately quoting me to try to change my post into something that it wasn't. You took me saying "Playstation fanboys" and changed it to "Playstation gamers". I was addressing the behavior that I've seen from Playstation fanboys (not Playstation gamers). My post was not concerning the rest of the Playstation gamers who are not the fanboys attacking the game out of jealousy/insecurity.

Pretty much this. This game, CoD, and Overwatch have the nastiest people playing it. It just happens with stuff that's popular. It tends to attract the numbskulls. I don't like PubG for the same reasons listen above. It just doesn't grab me. I've been gaming for 40+ years. So, it has pretty much a 'been there, done that' feel. I prefer games with a story that is decent. And I want my multi-player to at least have co-op.

I have 150+ hours on PUBG and love it. It’s not perfect but what game is? Haters gonna hate. Most haters probably don’t have friends to play it with or can’t get a chicken dinner lol. To be fair it’s obviously not going to be everyone’s bag because it’s a mp last man standing shooter.

Wait...so you think people hate PUBG because they can't code it themselves? That's a very, very odd opinion to say the least.
