What is the best major sports game?

I used to get one entry of these per generation, once they were down to a couple bucks used. Would usually play for a bit, then go back to Blitz or something form EA Big. THOSE, I miss.

Mutant Football League or Speedball 2

Over the last few years 2k has gone downhill, Madden has been going downhill for last 10 years, NHL is the one that's been improving or feels solid. MLB show is highly rated but I don't play it.

IMO sports titles were almost perfect during the days of the Genesis and SNES. Whether Madden, Talkback Sports, etc..., all were simple yet offering just enough depth. Now it has gotten ridiculous. Though I would like to play the NCAA title released a few months ago. How about a good boxing or arm wrestling game?

I disliked EA NHL 24. If I played on moderate difficulty I would win 8-6. One difficulty up the score would be 8-5 them, so unrealistic. Madden, at least has realistic scores.

No idea. Was like 15 years ago I played one last.

Anymore it's The Show or NHL, I haven't really played one in a couple years admittedly though.
