Suuuure. See, reading someones opinion as to why it's on their list is far more interesting than reading just a list.

Agreed, that was unnecessary. At least you stated why, more than everyone else did.
Burnout 3 FTW! if it wasn't for that game, I might never have got into Fall Out Boy or My Chemical Romance. Lots of other great songs by bands I'd barely heard of.
Any Halo game, hands down. But I would like to give a special mention to some Zelda game soundtracks, while not as sophisticated as other games, they really give great atmosphere appropriate to the fantasy game genre. There are a LOT of good game soundtracks out there now though.
Brutal Legend, hate the game, love the soundtrack. Also, the Metal Gear Solid 4 sountrack and the Mass Effect soundtrack are really both really epic.
Zelda: A Link to the Past. I haven't played the game in 20 years and I still distinctly remember EVERY tun in the game. Listen to this music and then tell me it isn't the best original sountrack ever.
Dark World theme
Hyrule overworld
Hyrule castle
That's pretty epic for a 16 bit game
I like a lot of Street Fighter 4's, it captures the hyper OTT Japanese goofiness of it all perfectly.
One of the best pieces of music or ambiance I can recall was in the rarther avarage game Chas Legions. I loved the Forest Monks track that played in one of the stages, it's awesome, the track made it the best part of the game, which it was anyway because it was the only part you get to run about as the girl with the frilly skirt and two guns for a welcome change of pace.

I agree! especially with the third one.
I'm gonna have to say world of warcraft and it's ex. packs.
don't play it anymore but I still listen to tracks from it
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the pretty obvious (but cheap) choice here.
Other than Brawl I would have to go with either Dynamite Headdy or Dragon Quest 8.
