What is the greatest Mario game of all time?

Super Mario 64.

I could never put SMG over SM64. SM64 perfected 3d platforming and it's sad that it's a lot less linear than Galaxy is.

My vote goes for SMB3. Played it a whole bunch as a kid, only recently beat it like 5 years ago. Still controls great. I never had an SNES when it was popular (got one like 6-8 years ago) and finally played SMW. While enjoyable, I didn't like it as much as number 3. 

Also the only 3d mario game i've played is Super Mario 3d land! (please don't hate me!) I really, really had a fun time with that, I felt that it was simple, but i had a blast, and it's probably the only mario game that i have collected all the secrets in (well at least i mean that i got all 3 big coins in all the levels)

Also while maybe not the best, I have had an absolute blast with New Super Mario Bros. for the DS and am still currently playing it's sequel for the 3ds, which was the first 3ds game i bought (when I bought mine earlier this year in february)

Super Mario World for me.

I also really like Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Bros. 3, Sunshine, Galaxy 2 and SSMB Wii as some more favorites.

I like Mario Kart 64 the most with Super Mario 64 on a second

Man, it's an good question. If I have to choose on which Mario game is the greatest of all time, it'll be Super Mario World. It was the first Mario game I had ever beaten. Plus, the game was different & fun.

Super Mario Brothers 3.

Basically a tie between Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

All of them are amazing, so i can't make a choice.

Super Mario World or one of the old Super Mario on SNES.

Havent played a lot of the newer stuff but from what i have seen, 64 and galaxy seems to be the same just with newer graphics.

I won't name one, but I will say Mario 3D Land for the 3DS deserves more credit. It's the 3D Mario game Mario 64 should have been, which is precisely why Mario 3D World following roughly the same formula is so exciting.
